Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Structural BIM Technician to join our dynamic team in Bengaluru, India. In this pivotal role, you will lead structural modeling and detailing initiatives on complex, global projects while fostering a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams. As a Senior Structural BIM Technician, you will be instrumental in implementing quality control systems, coordinating with multiple disciplines, and ensuring seamless BIM execution that drives project success. This position offers the opportunity to innovate within the structural engineering domain while mentoring junior technicians and contributing to the advancement of our BIM standards and practices.
- Lead structural modeling and detailing activities on medium to large-scale global projects using industry-standard BIM and CAD software packages
- Implement and maintain Quality Control Systems to ensure compliance with organizational BIM and CAD standards
- Conduct comprehensive clash detection analysis and prepare detailed clash reports to facilitate coordination between structural, MEP, architectural, and facade disciplines
- Coordinate with discipline-specific engineers to collect, review, and incorporate mark-ups in a timely manner, ensuring all feedback is addressed efficiently
- Supervise and mentor a small team of technicians and junior technicians, providing guidance on modeling best practices and technical problem-solving
- Review and quality-assure work deliverables from CAD/BIM teams before submission to engineers, maintaining high standards of accuracy and completeness
- Clarify project scope with project leads and BIM coordinators to ensure clear understanding of deliverables and timely task completion
- Participate in inter-discipline coordination meetings to identify and resolve modeling issues collaboratively
- Allocate and distribute modeling tasks to team members based on project requirements and delivery schedules
- Interface with peers across disciplines to troubleshoot complex modeling challenges and implement innovative solutions
- Ensure full compliance with organizational CAD/BIM standards and best practices across all project deliverables
- Report progress and technical updates to the BIM Coordinator and BIM Manager with transparency and clarity
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or recognized Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum 10-15 years of professional experience in Structural Engineering Modeling and Detailing
- Advanced proficiency in 3D modeling software, including Revit Structures, Tekla, and AutoCAD
- Demonstrated expertise with BIM review and coordination tools such as Navisworks
- Proven experience implementing and managing Quality Control Systems in BIM environments
- Strong knowledge of clash detection methodologies and coordination protocols across multiple disciplines
- Proven track record of leading and mentoring technical teams in a BIM/CAD environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex modeling issues
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities with demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines
- Thorough understanding of construction methodologies and structural engineering principles
- Experience with global project delivery and familiarity with international BIM standards
- Proficiency in technical documentation and the ability to prepare comprehensive reports and mark-ups
