Job Description

Responsible for leading, operating, and optimizing the SCATS traffic signal control system to ensure smooth traffic flow, safe operations, and high system performance.

Supports daily traffic operations, incident response, special events and continuous improvement of signal performance.

  • Lead the configuration, tuning, and optimization of SCATS signal management to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion.
  • Monitor real-time traffic performance and respond to incidents, faults, and abnormal traffic conditions.
  • Manage, guide and coach SCATS engineers and operators to ensure high quality service delivery.
  • Coordinate with traffic operations, field teams, and subcontractors for system maintenance and upgrades.
  • Analyze traffic data and prepare performance reports and improvement recommendations.
  • Support special events and road works by developing temporary signal plans and traffic strategies.
  • Ensure system availability, cybersecurity compliance, and backup procedures are followed.
  • Maintain accurate system documentation, drawings, and configuration records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contractual requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Traffic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience working with SCATS or adaptive traffic signal systems.
  • Strong experience in traffic signal operations, traffic modeling, and data analysis.
  • Experience leading technical teams and managing operational activities.
  • Experience in large road networks or urban traffic control centers preferred.
  • Middle East experience is an advantage.
