The Rhode Island Center for Early Learning Professionals is seeking a highly-skilled Training and Technical Assistance Associate (TTA Associate) with deep expertise in early childhood systems and specific expertise in school age child development. This position will be based out of EDC’s Warwick, RI office and will report to the Senior Training and Techical Assistance Associate.

The Rhode Island Center for Early Learning Professionals is funded by the Rhode Island Department of Human Services and Rhode Island Department of Education to advance the quality of Rhode Island’s early childhood programs including public school, Head Start, center-based child care, and family child care early learning programs. The TTA Associate will provide support to child care programs and providers across the state of Rhode Island, with particular focus on programs serving school age children (6 – 12 years). The TTA Associate will provide expertise to the development of pertinent products such as trainings, quality improvement plans, self-assessments, as well as provide 1:1 technical assistance and support communities of practice.

The Training & Technical Assistance Associate (II) provides professional development training and technical assistance; typically assigned to multiple, diverse, complex and high-impact projects. The Training & Technical Assistance Associate (II):        

• Possesses research skills to identify foundational research related to topics and appropriate citations
• Participates in the development of training materials and resources specific to school age child care, and trauma informed care
• Applies style & editorial rules and expertly uses electronic editing tools and layout and design skills, especially with Word and PowerPoint.
• Supports the education and learning in delivering high quality professional development and technical assistance using strengths based facilitation and coaching that empowers providers and teachers to move toward their continuous quality improvement goals. 
• Expands contacts and strengthens client relations
• Understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles and how to apply them across assignments
• Coordinates administrative and logistical tasks
• May be responsible for parts of diverse, small to mid-size projects or coordinate sections of larger, strategic projects

This position requires educational achievement; excellent writing skills; demonstrable initiative, creativity, and flexibility; ability to work independently and effectively in groups; and strong interpersonal & organizational skills. Specific requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Knowledge and experience, 4-7 years working with children 6-12 years.
• Knowledge and experience, 4-7 years working with RI systems such as RI BrightStars Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS), RI Workforce Knowledge and Competencies (WKCs), RI Department of Human Services Child Care Licensing, and other child care agencies/systems as applicable.
• Familiarity with multimedia techniques and demonstrable organizational and troubleshooting skills
• Strong analytical skills and aptitude for details
• Must be able to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends (required)
• Ability to travel locally and to visit local school age centers and family child care homes

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $64,000 to $97,000. Salary offers are made based on market analysis and internal equity.
