The Health Promotion, Practice, and Innovation (HPPI) portfolio includes a range of projects that aim to promote social and emotional wellbeing, promote mental and behavioral health, and to prevent risky behaviors such as substance misuse, violence, and suicide. Our project beneficiaries range from state agencies (e.g., state departments of public health and education), community-based organizations, and school districts. Our funders include federal agencies, state agencies, foundations, community-based organizations, and school districts. Our work includes trainings and professional development opportunities, technical assistance and consultation, and research and evaluation.

We expect potential projects for this staff position to support to include projects on two teams - the Trauma Recovery, Mental Health Promotion, and Violence Prevention Team and projects within the Problem Gambling Center.  Selected candidates could transition between these and other areas as business demands. 

Job Description

The HPPI Portfolio has an opening for an Administrative Coordinator, reporting to the one of the management team staff. The position is eligible to work in one of EDC’s offices in either Waltham, MA or Washington, DC and may be filled by a U.S.-based telecommuters. Internationally based telecommuters are not eligible for these positions.

The Administrative Coordinator:

  • Independently performs complex assignments requiring knowledge of task management, project coordination, product development content and administrative systems; solves complex problems
  • Communicates with partners and/or funders via email, in-person events, and online meetings
  • Copy-edits curricula and other materials to correct grammatical errors
  • Supports business development activities by coordinating deadlines, tasks, and supporting development of resumes, Gantt charts, and/or copy-editing proposal documents
  • Supports TA project teams by taking notes in planning meetings, supporting virtual technology and coordinating follow up tasks.
  • Facilitates teamwork; seeks and utilizes feedback

Qualifications

In summation, this position requires educational achievement; excellent writing skills; demonstrable initiative, creativity, and flexibility; ability to work independently and effectively in groups; and strong interpersonal & organizational skills. Specific requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and education in a related field preferred
  • 3–5 years related administrative coordination experience, including solid experience with 3 or more computer applications
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills and aptitude for details
  • Work experience in the field of mental health, social work, community approaches, and/or addictions
  • Work experience copy-editing and reviewing documents for grammatical errors
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally with external partners and/or funders

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $50,000 to $65,000.  Salary offers are made based on market analysis and internal equity.
