Job Description
Please note, this is a multi-unit role that requires the ability to work between all Eataly Toronto locations: Yorkville, Sherway Gardens, Don Mills, Eaton Centre, and the Distillery.
An Events & Education Associate assists guests with making educated and confident shopping decisions through sharing the stories of the people and places behind Eataly’s products as well as advising on food and beverage pairings. Reports to the Events & Education Manager.
- Executes events such as cooking classes, wine tastings, brand partnership events and other activations for our cooking school, performing tasks such as serving, table set-up, tear-down and guest check-in
- Supports set up, execution and tear-down of storewide events
- Ensures all glassware, cutlery and printed collateral are prepared ahead of each event
- Leads private and consumer store tours
- Supports the cooking school chefs and the Events & Education Leads in guest interactions during events
- Assists with packaging and delivery of product for virtual events
- Prepares and executes tasting activations on the floor to support product sales and marketing events
- Supports offsite events and activations as needed
- Performs other duties as required or assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in restaurant operations, quick-service or events
- 1+ years of experience in a fast-paced customer service environment
- Excellent organizational, project management and time management skills
- Outstanding professional communication, public speaking, editorial, and customer service skills
- Knowledge of and passion for Italian food and beverage preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Eventbrite, Salido and Catapult systems are considered an asset
Job Requirements
- Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings, weekends and holidays
- SmartServe certified
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
- Frequent travel within the GTA
Compensation
- Compensation for this role is CAD $20.00 hourly
