Job Description
THE POSITION:
We are looking for an experienced Release Manager to oversee and coordinate software releases across multiple teams and environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in release management processes, hands-on experience using Jira, and proven experience working closely with software development or product development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and manage end-to-end software releases across multiple projects
- Work closely with software development and product teams to ensure smooth release cycles
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including development, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders
- Define and maintain release calendars and ensure alignment across teams
- Track release progress, risks, and dependencies using Jira
- Ensure all release deliverables meet quality standards and timelines
- Manage release documentation, including release notes and deployment plans
- Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and bottlenecks in the release cycle
- Facilitate go/no-go meetings and ensure stakeholder sign-offs
- Drive continuous improvement in release management processes and tools
- Ensure compliance with change management and governance standards
Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in Release Management or similar role
- Proven experience working closely with software development or product development teams
- Strong hands-on experience with Jira (dashboards, workflows, reporting)
- Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
- Experience managing releases in complex, multi-team environments
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple releases simultaneously
- Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with tools like Confluence, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab)
- Knowledge of ITIL or change management frameworks
- Experience in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Certification in Agile/Scrum (e.g., Scrum Master, SAFe) is a plus
