Job Description

The D365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Developer is responsible for developing, testing, and deploying customizations and integrations within Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O according to functional specifications. This role supports business requirements across Finance, Supply Chain, Projects, and other operational modules by delivering high-quality extensions, performance-optimized solutions, and reliable system enhancements that align with Microsoft best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Development

  • Develop customizations using X++, extensions, and Visual Studio in accordance with D365 F&O development standards.
  • Build and maintain integrations using DMF, OData, Power Platform connectors, Azure Logic Apps, and custom APIs.
  • Create and modify forms, reports, classes, tables, data entities, workflows, and batch jobs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve code defects, performance bottlenecks, and data inconsistencies.
  • Mapping user requirements for effective Dynamics 365 solutions

System Enhancements & Support

  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Functional Consultants, and SMEs to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Participate in solution architecture reviews and ensure adherence to Microsoft-recommended extension patterns.
  • Provide Tier 3 technical support for production issues and assist with root cause analysis.
  • Apply performance tuning and ensure optimized data access and query operations.

Release Management & Quality Assurance

  • Assist with code migration through dev/test/production environments using Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specs and deployment notes.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure consistent, maintainable, and secure development practices.
  • Write and execute unit tests; support functional testing teams during SIT/UAT.

Data & Integration Work

  • Support data migration activities, including data mapping, transformation, and loading via DMF.
  • Develop and maintain integration solutions between D365 F&O and external systems.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational standards.

Qualifications

Required

  • 4+ years of experience creating customizations and modifying configurations in D365 Finance & Operations / AX 2012.
  • Strong knowledge of X++, Visual Studio, and the D365 F&O extensibility model.
  • Experience with data entities, batch processing, and integrations.
  • Familiarity with Azure services (e.g., Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus).
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps (Boards, Repos, Pipelines).
  • Ability to translate functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Experience with integrating D365 with external systems.

Preferred

  • Experience with D365 Finance, Supply Chain, or Project Operations modules.
  • Exposure to Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).
  • Understanding of Finance and Operations architecture, LCS, and deployment processes.
