headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation with Each being one of the lead agencies. headspace supports young people aged 12–25 and their families, providing early intervention, holistic care, and connections to the right supports - when they need them most.


Your role, your impact
This is more than a leadership role – it’s an opportunity to influence how services are delivered, strengthen a capable clinical workforce, and improve outcomes for young people and families.

You will:

  • Lead clinical excellence, ensuring safe, high-quality care for young people and their support networks
  • Improve access and service flow, managing demand and strengthening referral pathways
  • Provide expert clinical guidance, supporting staff with complex presentations and decision-making
  • Mentor and grow your team, fostering a culture of learning, wellbeing, and collaboration
  • Build strong community connections, partnering across health, education, and social services
  • Shape service innovation, contributing to improvements in intake, systems, and care delivery

You’ll step into a role where your leadership directly supports earlier intervention, better outcomes, and stronger community connections.


About you
You’re a confident, values-led clinician who thrives on leading others and driving meaningful change.

You bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Mental Health Nursing and relevant professional registration (AHPRA or AASW as applicable)
  • At least 5 years’ experience in senior clinical practice within mental health
  • Strong capability in intake, assessment, and risk management
  • Experience leading, supervising, or mentoring clinicians
  • A commitment to inclusive practice, supporting diverse communities including LGBTIQA+, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and young people facing complex challenges
  • Sound understanding of legislation, policy, and clinical governance
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
  • Experience supporting people with co-occurring mental health and substance use
  • Current driver’s licence

Experience within primary health care, child and youth mental health, and the MBS environment will support your success in this role.


What will make you stand out

  • Experience in a headspace or youth mental health setting
  • Experience leading intake, triage, or service redesign initiatives
  • Experience delivering training or supervision to clinical staff
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a related field and experience in delivering training workshops to health professionals (highly regarded)
