Job Description

The live-in model allows for structure in a client's home environment; LIve-In DSP/Caregivers work a 7 day on/7 day off schedule. You will be required to live in the individuals' home on location and will be paid 16 hours a day (minus any unpaid break time). Live-ins work approximately two weeks per month and earn full-time pay plus overtime! Bi-weekly compensation will be for 105 hours (25 of which are paid at a rate of time and a half). You will also be paid for any interrupted sleep time, if applicable. Live-ins are also provided with a weekly food budget during your week on. You will receive one 7-hour break during your scheduled shift.

  • All off time must be spent off location - the individual’s home cannot be your primary residence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS: Include the following & other duties may be assigned.

  • Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment 
  • Follow all support plans to ensure that care is person centered, which includes helping individuals reach their goals and overcome behavioral challenges.
  • Meal preparation/cooking and household cleaning, including laundry, washing dishes, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, etc. 
  • Provide transportation to individuals using company-provided vehicles, public transportation or, if approved, personal vehicle.
  • Employees may need to handle and de-escalate inappropriate behavior from the individuals such as verbal and/or physical aggression
  • Support levels could include but are not limited to: verbal assistance, partial and/or full physical assistance, and performing personal care/hygiene tasks as needed
  • Check and assure all documentation is accurate and completed in a timely manner 

Qualifications

  • Ability to live in the home for 7 days
  • Ability to leave the home for 7 days
  • Be 18+ Years Old
  • At least 1 year of previous caregiving experience (experience with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred) 
  • Must have a Valid Drivers License 
  • Have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to work independently
