Job Description
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations & Inventory Management
- Oversee receipt, handling, storage, issuance, and dispensing of raw materials, packing materials, intermediates, and finished goods in line with cGMP requirements.
- Ensure optimum utilization of warehouse space and manpower through effective layout planning, slotting, and process optimization.
- Maintain robust inventory control systems, including cycle counts, physical verification, and reconciliation through SAP.
- Ensure safety of materials and personnel by enforcing safety practices, use of PPE, and compliance with SHE requirements.
Compliance, Audit & Governance
- Ensure strict compliance with cGMP, GDP, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare the warehouse and planning functions for regulatory and statutory audits through accurate documentation, stock accounting, and system controls.
- Act as a liaison with Government authorities such as Customs, State Excise, and statutory auditors for routine operational and compliance matters.
Cost Control & Asset Management
- Monitor and control CAPEX and OPEX against approved budgets for warehouse and planning operations.
- Oversee scrap yard activities and ensure scrap handling and disposal are carried out as per approved procedures and regulatory requirements.
SOPs, Systems & Digital Enablement
- Review, implement, and continuously improve SOPs related to warehouse operations and plant planning.
- Ensure accurate and timely online transactions in SAP for inventory movements, planning, and reporting.
- Generate MIS dashboards and participate in cross‑functional and management review meetings.
Investigation, CAPA & Continuous Improvement
- Perform or review investigations related to incidents, out‑of‑specification (OOS), out‑of‑trend (OOT), product failures, system failures, and market complaints.
- Identify root causes and implement effective CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) to prevent recurrence.
People Development & Capability Building
- Maintain and control the training matrix for warehouse and planning teams.
- Develop subordinates through structured training, mentoring, and on‑the‑job coaching to build a strong succession pipeline.
Qualifications
Educational qualification:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum work experience:
12 years of hands-on experience in warehouse management, with a strong focus on quality management systems, regulatory compliance, and team leadership
Behavioral Skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills to take ownership of warehouse QMS and lead a team effectively.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with government authorities, statutory auditors, and team members.
- Ability to build and lead a cohesive team, fostering a positive and disciplined shop floor operation.
- Effective problem-solving skills for addressing non-compliance observations, equipment qualification, and other operational challenges.
- Strong attention to detail for managing area cleaning, calibration schedules, document issuance and retrieval, and maintaining discipline at the shop floor.
