Job Description

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing end-to-end supply chain operations for finished pharmaceutical products, ensuring strict compliance with GDP, GMP, and all relevant international regulatory requirements. This role involves collaboration with internal teams and external partners to deliver seamless supply chain performance across global markets. Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of business operations and coordination with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Management of 4PL providers and freight forwarders
  • In-market logistics execution, including cold chain and ambient distribution
  • End-to-end inventory planning and control to ensure product availability
  • Driving continuity of supply through effective S&OP processes
  • Leading project-related and interface activities with IT team for SCM process improvement.

 

The manager is also accountable for enhancing customer service levels and implementing cost optimization strategies, ensuring operational excellence and compliance within the pharmaceutical supply chain.

 

 

Demand Planning & Inventory Management

  • Leads 18-month rolling demand forecasts across all channels in collaboration with the marketing team, leveraging historical sales data to establish monthly consensus forecasts.
  • Coordinates with the central supply chain team to capture demand in the global planning system (Kinaxis).
  • Supports local sales teams in managing hospital tenders across Malaysia , Singapore and Brunei.
  • Oversees end-to-end inventory management, including reworks, redeployments, and product recalls.
  • Acts as the single point of contact for in-market supply chain operations.

Distribution & Logistics

  • Ensures timely and accurate delivery of products — right product, right place, right time, and right cost — within validated logistics frameworks.
  • Supervises warehousing, transportation, and distribution networks, ensuring cost control, issue resolution, and performance against KPIs.
  • Manages 4PL warehousing and distributor operations across Malaysia , providing strategic guidance as needed.
  • Oversees inbound freight clearance activities through service providers.
  • Implements cost-effective measures to improve distribution efficiency.
  • Monitors inventory to meet sales demand and maintain optimal stock levels across distribution nodes.
  • Prepares routine and ad-hoc MIS reports including forecasts, stock on hand, inventory provisions, and sales data.

Warehousing & Operational Logistics

  • Coordinates with distributors operating in the territory.
  • Manages demand planning and stock replenishment to DHL distribution centres.
  • Oversees order processing, delivery execution, and inventory transactions including GRNs, new line setups, temperature excursions, cycle counts, stocktakes, and audits.
  • Conducts obsolescence reviews and executes liquidation plans.
  • Manages product destruction in accordance with company and local compliance policies.
  • Reviews and implements KPIs including DIFOT, and drives process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency.
  • Ensures compliance with warehouse and distribution licensing requirements via DHL.
  • Identifies and implements initiatives to improve end-to-end supply chain performance.

Distributor  & B2B Partner Management

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including wholesalers, distributors, and B2B partners.
  • Conducts monthly secondary sales analysis.
  • Reviews and approves requests related to short-dated, damaged, or returned stock.
  • Supports new product line forecasting and execution.
  • Participates in regular catch-ups with wholesalers and B2B partners to ensure alignment and performance.
  • Ensures B2B orders are delivered in full and on time to support LE targets.

Transport & Clearance Coordination

  • Coordinates timely customs clearance and transportation across all operational areas.

Cross-Functional Coordination with India Teams

  • Collaborates with global supply chain, planning, finance, regulatory, quality, procurement, master data, and logistics teams to ensure business continuity.
  • Delivers monthly reports and analysis including stock data and B2B order tracking.
  • Manages timely release of purchase orders and monitors SKU coverage for the upcoming quarter.
  • Aligns LE planning in Kinaxis with country leadership, finance, and SCM teams.
  • Ensures adherence to quality compliance standards as per company guidelines.

Team & Resource Management

  • Coordinates team meetings, delegates tasks, manages workloads, and fosters cross-functional collaboration.

 

 

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    Educational qualification:Graduate / post graduate degree and any speciality (Courses in SCM will be preferred)

     

    Minimum work experience:  7- 10 years of experience in supply chain management industry. Minimum 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical company is preferred.
