Job Description

The National Sales Manager will be responsible for leading, developing and executing the sales strategy for Oncology  and Haematology portfolio across Malaysia . This role is crucial for driving market penetration, achieving revenue targets and building a high performing sales team.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in pharmaceutical sales management, a deep understanding of the therapeutic area and strong leadership skills to motivate and guide a national sales force.

Roles & Responsibilities

Strategic Sales Planning & Execution

  • Develop and implement a national sales strategy for the (Oncology/Haematology ) portfolio to achieve and exceed sales targets and business objectives, with a strong focus on the  Government and Private Hospital channel.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and sales data to identify new opportunities for growth and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Set clear sales goals, targets, and KPIs for the entire national sales team.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing and Medical Affairs to ensure sales strategies are aligned with product positioning and scientific data.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing sales team of Key Account Managers .
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and develop individual and team development plans.
  • Actively participate in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new sales talent to ensure the team is well-equipped to succeed.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration within the sales force.

Market & Key Account Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), oncologists,  Haematologists in hospitals.
  • Oversee and guide the sales team in preparing for and participating in hospital bidding processes to secure key accounts and market share.
  • Serve as a key representative of the company's at industry events, conferences, and seminars related to (Oncology and Haematology).
  • Oversee the management of key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and maximizing business opportunities.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts, territory performance reports, and market insights for senior leadership.
  • Manage sales budgets effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to achieve targets.
  • Ensure all sales activities, bidding processes, and promotional practices strictly comply with the regulations of the Drug Administration of Malaysia and the company's ethical standards.

Qualifications

Educational qualification: Bachelor of Pharmacy is a mandatory requirement

Minimum work experience:

  • 10  Plus years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, with at least 3-5 years in a sales management role leading a national team
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a competitive market
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role at a large pharmaceutical company, with a focus on the (Oncology/Haematology ) therapeutic area and the Hospital channel
  • Strong experience and knowledge of the therapeutic area (Oncology/Haematology) is highly preferred

  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Deep understanding of the Malaysian pharmaceutical market and regulatory landscape

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and a strong sense of accountability.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to a dynamic market.
