Job Description
We're looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team at our Mount Vernon, United States location. In this pivotal role, you will support the Store Manager in driving daily operations, leading and developing a high-performing team, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. As an Assistant Manager, you'll be instrumental in achieving business objectives while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that empowers team members to succeed.
- Support the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations and executing strategic business objectives
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of sales associates, providing coaching and performance feedback to drive results
- Ensure consistently high standards of customer service by modeling excellent customer-focused behaviors and addressing inquiries, complaints, and returns professionally
- Manage inventory operations, including receiving, stocking, organizing merchandise, and maintaining accurate inventory records
- Implement and maintain visual merchandising standards to create an appealing and organized store environment
- Assist in recruiting, onboarding, training, and scheduling staff to build a capable and engaged team
- Analyze sales data and implement strategic initiatives to improve store performance and achieve sales targets
- Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, safety regulations, and loss prevention protocols
- Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment that reflects company standards
- Demonstrate flexibility and resilience by adapting to changing priorities and supporting the team through peak periods
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail management or a similar customer-facing supervisory role
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to motivate, develop, and inspire team members
- Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for creating positive customer experiences
- Proficiency in operational management, including inventory control, cash handling, and loss prevention
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly across all levels
- Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer applications
- Knowledge of visual merchandising principles and best practices
- Experience with staff scheduling and workforce management
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field preferred
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds regularly
- Strong organizational and time management skills
