Job Description
Job Summary
CMI Management is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator (WWTP) for our customer site located in Shepherdstown, WV. The Wastewater Treatment Plant consists of one mechanical solids strainer; one bar screen; two 41,000 GPD oxidation ditches; extended aeration wastewater treatment plants, each consisting of a 44,000 gallon aeration chamber; a 22,480 gallon clarifier; a 9,000 gallon aerobic digester; and two 2,500 gallon chlorine contact chambers with chlorinator. The estimated average flow is 18,700 gallons per calendar day.
This position is for 1st Shift: 7am to 3:30pm Sun – Thurs or Tues - Sat
Key Job Functions
- Operate sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in wastewater (sewage) treatment plant to control flow and processing of sewage
- Monitor control panels and adjusts valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate flow of sewage
- Observe variations in operating conditions and interpret meter and gauge readings, and test results to determine load requirements
- Start and stop pumps, engines, and generators to control flow of raw sewage through filtering, settling, aeration, and sludge digestion processes
- Maintain log of operations and record meter readings
- Give directions to sewage-disposal workers in performing routine operations and maintenance
- Collect sewage samples using dipper or bottle and conduct laboratory tests using testing equipment, such as colorimeter
Qualifications
- The WWTP operator shall be certified in accordance with West Virginia regulations
- HS Diploma
- Good communication
- Attention to detail
