Job Description

Being part of the project team for providing the synchronization of next generation network infrastructures like 5G. Focusing on journey to support the ITIL based operation workflows for the incident & problem management in DT networks.

Key Tasks:

  • Introduction and operation of system technology for timing & synchronization

  • Drafting of technical specifications

  • Purchasing support for our procurement department
  • Independent evaluation of offers
  • Drafting and implementation of concepts for the management of the systems
  • Development of application concepts and documentation (e.g. cabling, operating concept, EMC and risk assessment),
  • Coordination with respective specialists within our company

  • Development of test concepts for synchronization systems and synchronization functions in transport systems
  • 2nd level support
  • Being responsible for the interface to the system manufacturer

Qualifications

  • Understanding of timing & synchronization, e.g.

  • PTP and SyncE physical layer and protocol
  • International standards such as ITU-T and IEEE
  • Complex testing, measurement and simulation systems (e.g. PTP and SyncE measurement stations, counter systems and GNSS simulators)
  • Vertical knowledge of technology solutions and ability to learn, understand, and work quickly within the Telecommunications technology space for Optical Transport Networks Domain.
  • Degree in communications engineering or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Develop timing & synchronization architecture further

  • Follow the standardization of timing & synchronization at ITU-T and IEEE and, if necessary, influence it with your own contributions
