We are looking for motivated students who are finalising their studies or recent graduates to join our Strategy and Deal Transformation teams in Helsinki as a Trainee. This full-time Trainee position begins in the end of 2026 or beginning 2027 and lasts approximately 6 to 8 months. offering a unique opportunity to get familiar with two of our core offerings, working in each team approximately three to four months. This unique setup will allow you to build a comprehensive skill set and identify the area that best aligns with your interests and strengths. Many Trainees continue with us into permanent roles after their Trainee period.

Strategy & Business Design (Monitor Deloitte)

Monitor Deloitte is our strategy consulting practice, working with the leading and most ambitious corporations and public organizations to drive growth on the issues that are most important to them. We work with chief executives and their teams to catalyse enterprise wide, strategy-led transformation to realise full business value.

As a Trainee, you will be involved in projects related to growth, corporate and business strategy, business design and configuration, innovation & ventures and strategic transformation. Your tasks can include, for example, data gathering and analysis, preparing client materials, attending client workshops and project reporting.

M&A Deal Transformation

Our Deal Transformation team provides integration, separation, HR, IT and commercial due diligence services as well as design, planning and execution support for integration and separation programmes typically in an M&A context. Our team also provides profitability and working capital improvement services.

As a Trainee, you will support our experienced professionals with various due diligence and diagnostics analyses, including integration, separation and operational due diligence for M&A transactions, as well as commercial due diligence on acquisition targets. Your tasks can also include peer company and functional benchmarking, synergy case building, client workshop and meeting facilitation, and documentation and reporting support.

Qualifications

What do we hope for from you?

If you got excited reading the job description, have an analytical and solution-oriented mindset and a collaborative attitude you might be the M&A Trainee that we are looking for!

We also hope that you have:

  • Have a strong academic record with a relevant master’s degree e.g., economics, strategy, industrial engineering or similar or a related field (close to graduation or graduated)
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong motivation as well as an interest to pursue a career in M&A, Strategy and Performance Improvement
  • Confidence in using Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good communication skills and that you can communicate fluently in at least one Nordic language and in English

Previous relevant work experience is considered an advantage but are not required.

To be considered for this Trainee position, a prerequisite is that you are currently allowed to work in Finland, holding a valid residence permit if required.
