We are looking  for students who are finalising their studies or who have already graduated to join our Finance Transformation consulting team as a Finance Transformation Trainee specifically for public sector projects. 

We would like you to start your 4-month Trainee period in August 2026. Many Trainees continue with us into permanent roles after their Trainee period.

Deloitte is one of the leading advisory firms for Government & Public Sector, and our industry-focused professionals work with Finnish public organizations in e.g. healthcare, justice and defense, cities, infrastructure and transport. In our Finance Transformation consulting team, we advise the CFO’s and other public sector leaders in developing the finance function and addressing various challenges related to finance strategy, operating model, process development, IT architecture, technology-enabled transformations, and more.  

As a Finance Transformation Trainee for public sector, you will learn about diverse aspects of finance function and the leading practices to develop it. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in finance transformation with exposure to the challenges and considerations specific to the Finnish public sector. Other Trainee tasks can include e.g. assisting us in Deloitte surveys and discussion papers: you get to help with data gathering, analysis (such as KPI-metrics) and in visualizing the data in presentations. Your tasks may also include helping with our client projects, for example preparing client materials and proposals.

What do we hope for from you? 

Would you like to learn more about finance transformation consulting? Are you enthusiastic to work in an environment where you get to follow the latest trends in the field? We are seeking a highly motivated, analytical and proactive person with a genuine passion to drive positive change in the public sector and eagerness to gain both functional and industry expertise.  

We also hope that you have: 

• A recent master’s degree or ongoing master studies (e.g., in Business Administration, Economics, Data Science or other relevant field) majoring in Finance, supported by understanding of public sector (either through studies, or personal interest)

• Interest in public sector Finance processes and developing technology-enabled finance transformation for Government and Public Sector

• Interest in developing the Wellfare organisation, Municipalities, Government and other public sector clients to perform in their Finance function, with Finance technologies, process development, organisation development

• Previous work experience in finance function or public sector is considered an advantage

• Drive towards data and data driven decision making

• Great MS Office suite skills, especially Excel and Power Point

• Fluent written and oral skills in Finnish and English

To be considered for this Trainee position, a prerequisite is that you are currently allowed to work in Finland, holding a valid residence permit if required.
