PMO Tooling & Insights Specialist

  • Full-time
  • Office address: Deloitte Auckland, Level 20, 1 Queen Street, Auckland
  • Department: Consulting | Technology | Systems Delivery & Modernisation

Company Description

Join us. But be you. At Deloitte, you’ll do more than just join something—you’ll add something. You’ve found a place that values your curiosity, passion, and desire to work alongside brilliant people on the things that really matter. The question is: what impact do you want to make?

The team you’ll join

Deloitte's Technology & Transformation practice works across strategy through to delivery, supporting clients to design and implement change.

Within this, our Systems Delivery & Modernisation team focuses on pragmatic, high quality delivery—helping clients successfully deliver projects, programmes, and technology transformations in complex environments.

We're looking for a PMO Tooling & Insights Specialist to join our team in Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch. This role sits at the intersection of project delivery, modern tooling, analytics, and emerging AI capabilities.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working with data, improving processes, and exploring how new technologies can transform project and programme delivery.

Job Description

This is not a traditional PMO role. Success in this position comes from combining strong delivery foundations with modern tooling, analytics, automation, and AI capabilities to improve how projects and programmes are delivered.

You'll help clients and delivery teams maximise the value of their delivery tooling, using data driven insights to support decision making, improve visibility of scope and progress, and unlock efficiencies through automation and emerging technologies.

You'll play a key role in helping clients and delivery teams establish, optimise, and scale delivery tooling, reporting, analytics, and governance capabilities, including:

  • Designing, configuring, administering, and continuously improving Jira and Confluence environments to support project and programme delivery
  • Developing meaningful dashboards, reports, and analytics that provide actionable insights for programme and project stakeholders
  • Supporting PMOs, project managers, and programme leaders with reporting, governance, planning, and delivery visibility
  • Enabling flow of work across teams to drive efficiency and efficacy in delivery
  • Translating delivery data into clear recommendations that support decision making, risk management, and programme outcomes
  • Establishing and maintaining delivery management tooling, templates, workflows, dashboards, and reporting frameworks
  • Identifying opportunities to improve delivery efficiency through automation, workflow optimisation, and modern tooling capabilities
  • Working with client and Deloitte teams to solve complex delivery, operational, and information management challenges
  • Contributing to the design and implementation of AI enabled delivery processes, accelerators, and ways of working
  • Supporting proof of concepts and experimentation with emerging AI, automation, and analytics technologies
  • Helping clients improve data quality, reporting maturity, and operational insights across delivery functions
  • Contributing to internal intellectual property, accelerators, playbooks, templates, and reusable delivery assets
  • Supporting business development activities, proposals, demonstrations, and client discussions
  • Collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful outcomes for clients
  • Driving adoption of good practice tooling and methodologies across our team

Qualifications

Your Expertise

  • 3-5 years' experience in PMO, project delivery, business operations, reporting, analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong Jira and Confluence administration, configuration, and optimisation experience.
  • Proven capability developing dashboards, reports, workflows, automations, and delivery governance artefacts.
  • Sound understanding of project and programme delivery, including planning, governance, reporting, risk, issue, dependency, and scope management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across technical and business teams, translating data into actionable insights.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable learning new technologies and ways of working.
  • Experience building trusted relationships in client-facing environments.

Desirable Experience

  • Atlassian certifications and experience across Jira, Confluence, or Jira Service Management.
  • PMO tooling, governance, reporting, and delivery framework implementation.
  • Analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI, Atlassian Analytics, EazyBI, or Tableau.
  • SQL, Power Platform, automation, or low-code technologies.
  • Large-scale technology, transformation, data, or business change programmes.
  • AI-enabled delivery, analytics, automation, or knowledge management solutions.
  • Consulting or professional services experience.

What Will Help You Succeed

You are curious, data-driven, and outcomes-focused, with a passion for improving delivery through technology and AI. You thrive in ambiguous environments, balance strategic and detailed thinking, build strong stakeholder relationships, and bring a collaborative mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and innovation.
