Job Description

As a Delivery Director, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of large-scale, multi-stream programmes and projects, often involving multiple vendors, stakeholders, and governance layers. You will provide strategic oversight, delivery assurance, and leadership across the full lifecycle of transformation initiatives.

You will:

  • Lead the delivery of large scale, complex technology implementations across a variety of technology solutions and across a variety of sector such as health, public sector, and financial services.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight across multiple delivery streams, ensuring alignment to business outcomes and governance frameworks.
  • Act as a senior advisor to clients, shaping delivery strategy, programme structure, and risk mitigation approaches.
  • Build and lead high-performing delivery teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Navigate ambiguity and complexity, resolving delivery challenges and enabling successful outcomes.
  • Oversee vendor and contract management, ensuring commercial alignment and performance.
  • Engage with executive stakeholders, boards, and steering committees to provide delivery confidence and transparency.
  • Drive delivery assurance, programme recovery, and independent health checks where required.
  • Contribute to business development, client relationship management, and opportunity shaping.
  • Champion delivery excellence across Deloitte, leveraging global assets, accelerators, and best practices.

Qualifications

Your expertise:

  • 15+ years of experience in programme and project delivery, with a strong track record of leading large, complex initiatives.
  • Have an excellent understand of the Solution Delivery Lifecycle and end to end technology delivery, with deep experience across the component parts
  • Deep understanding of delivery governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement at executive levels.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-stream programmes with diverse stakeholders, vendors, and delivery teams.
  • Experience in both Agile and Waterfall environments, with the ability to tailor approaches to context.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including contract negotiation, vendor management, and financial oversight.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in public sector, health, financial services, or regulated industries is highly desirable.
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, or MSP are a must.
  • Experience in delivery assurance, programme recovery, and strategic advisory is a strong advantage.
