Africa Talent by Deloitte (Africa Talent) is a standalone division of Deloitte, owned by Deloitte Africa and Deloitte Netherlands, based in South Africa. Our goal is to meet the growing demand for Talent in Africa and Europe; by recruiting and developing Talent throughout Sub Saharan Africa to service the diverse needs and to enable projects at our clients. Job Description

As a Junior Manager, you will be a key contributor to our integrated delivery model, serving a variety of clients and supporting complex audit engagements for our Netherlands business. With your expertise, you will: 

  • Serve a variety of clients across different industries and geographies 
  • Audit complex items in financial statements with professional skepticism 
  • Help define and execute audit strategies aligned with Deloitte’s global standards 
  • Support Netherlands engagements with high-quality, cost-effective audit delivery 
  • Make a difference in the area of ESG (sustainability) and emerging audit challenges 
  • Develop and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Developing audit strategies: Collaborate with partners and managers to develop comprehensive client service plans and audit strategies 
  • Risk identification & recommendations: Identify issues and risks at the client and provide clear, practical recommendations 
  • Audit execution: Take primary responsibility for defining and executing the audit strategy, ensuring alignment with Deloitte’s quality standards 
  • Client reporting: Provide necessary input for both internal and external client reporting, ensuring timely and accurate communication 
  • Complex audit items: Audit complex items in financial statements, applying professional judgment and analytical thinking 
  • Financial statement review: Review financial statements and ensure they comply with all statutory requirements and accounting standards 
  • Team integration: Work effectively to foster an environment of professional excellence and continuous improvement mindset 
  • Engagement management: Understand the importance of effective engagement management and deliver on engagement economics metrics in alignment with stakeholder expectations 

Qualifications

  • Completed university degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 
  • Completed the Certified Accountant (CA) qualification 
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience as an accountant or auditor  
  • Preferred experience 4 years of professional experience 
  • Fluent English (spoken and written) – essential for supporting Netherlands engagements Proficiency in Afrikaans or Dutch is advantageous 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in audit delivery and supporting international engagements 
  • Knowledge of IFRS  
  • Experience with audit technology and automation/AI tools 
  • Exposure to ESG and sustainability audit topics 
  • Experience in a Big 4 or similar professional services environment
