We currently have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic person to join Consulting Services as a Senior Consultant – Strategy & Business Design. This position will be based in our Nairobi office in Kenya.

Job Description

Main purpose of the job

As a Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for scoping projects, leading all aspects of analysis, managing projects end-to-end, and owning delivery across a range of clients. With the support and oversight of senior team members, you will take a leadership role on your projects, overseeing teams to produce high-quality client deliverables and coaching team members throughout the engagement.

You will bring significant and demonstrated experience in facilitation, evidence-based and data-driven approaches, client relationship management, and business development. A key aspect of your role will be leading delivery, providing guidance and constructive feedback to team members at Analyst level to support their development and ensure successful project outcomes.

What you will do

  • Support the Engagement Partner/Manager in delivering projects and managing the implementation of agreed deliverables and workstreams.
  • Facilitate multi-stakeholder, cross-functional engagements to identify and evaluate opportunities and interventions.
  • Execute initiatives efficiently and effectively, including facilitating strategy sessions, presenting key findings, modelling business cases, building dashboards, optimising process flows, or researching global best practice.
  • Problem-solve in unstructured environments where the diagnosis and solution may not be clear and lateral thinking is required.
  • Raise issues with management that may impact project quality or timelines.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for follow-on work and collaborate with management to secure additional business.
  • Assist in the development of client presentations and discussion documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships with clients and colleagues, generating leads and supporting cross-selling of Deloitte’s broader offerings.
  • Propose solutions and ideas to enhance or renew service offerings within your area of expertise.
  • Contribute to business development activities, such as proposal writing and market research.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • 5-8 years working experience in a client facing consulting tole. Experience in a professional services/consulting firm is an added advantage.
  • Prior team leadership opportunities in a project engagement an added advantage.
  • Soundly skilled in providing vision and strategy for client proposals along with attention to detail.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Good financial knowledge.
