Are you a Cloud FinOps practitioner? Do you have experience of managing and optimising cloud costs in complex Enterprise environments? Do you want to make an impact that matters and help diverse organisations in their Cloud adoption path? Do you want to take the lead in establishing new ways of thinking about Cloud FinOps? We are seeking a skilled Cloud FinOps Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will leverage FinOps Foundation principles to optimise clients' cloud spending and maximise investment value. Responsibilities include performing detailed cloud assessments, developing cost optimisation strategies, and delivering financial reporting. You will enable Cloud FinOps capabilities by establishing processes, governance, and a culture of cost awareness. Additionally, you will guide clients on best practices, implement cost management tools, and provide ongoing support. As a Cloud FinOps Consultant, you will bridge technical and financial teams, benchmark expenditures, and serve as a trusted advisor to improve cloud financial management. The ideal candidate has strong cloud cost management experience, analytical and communication skills, and a track record of driving financial efficiency. 

  • Understand, interpret and apply legislative and/or regulatory requirements to risk domain documentation (e.g. the formulation of a new policy to address a new regulatory requirement) 
  • Advise on methodology enhancements to existing processes 
  • Interpret and apply financial crime considerations to the risk strategy of an organisation (e.g. formulation of a risk appetite statement, risk based approach etc.) and articulate the associated outcomes 
  • Devise, articulate and implement solutions based on regulatory scrutiny or demand 
  • Advise on comprehensiveness or efficiency of currently implemented processes 
  • Understand implications of methodology through risk-based processes (e.g. risk weightings, risk scoring and controls) 
  • Devise, articulate and implement project and workstream plans, take on accountability for all / aspects of risk and issue management, contribute to senior and executive level reporting. 
  • Evaluate regulatory control design issues, develop mitigation plans, and assess and design regulatory controls procedures and policies 
  • Leads interactions with client’s business stakeholders to gather key information on controls components (e.g., control environment, risk assessment, control activities) to enable a comprehensive assessment 
  • Employs an analytics and technology-driven approach to controls assessment to enable real-time analysis and data-driven decisions 
  • Independently performs testing of regulatory controls for design and operating effectiveness 
  • Drives analysis of control deficiencies to prioritize gaps and develop targeted mitigation plans 
  • Assesses and develops policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and alignment with business goals and objectives. 

Qualifications

Minimum 4-year relevant Academic Degree, B Eng / BSc Degree Preferred 

Professional / Expert cloud certification, AWS Solutions Architect Professional or Azure Solutions Architect Expert. 

FinOps Certified Practitioner

Develop a strategic vision for cloud cost optimization aligned with clients' business objectives. 

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor on all aspects of cloud cost management. 

Manage the delivery of cloud cost optimization projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Storage Efficiency: Understanding and using various storage classes/options based on cost and performance needs. 

Auto Scaling and Elasticity: Employing auto scaling and elasticity features to match resource capacity with demand. 

Cost Allocation: Generating and analysing cost allocation reports for cost allocation across departments or projects. 

Showback/Chargeback: Implementing mechanisms for cost visibility to foster cost consciousness and accountability. 

Guardrail Implementation: Enforcing cost optimization practices to prevent cost overruns. 

Budgets and Forecasting: Setting up budgets and forecasting future costs based on usage patterns. 

Cost Visibility Dashboards: Creating and maintaining dashboards for near real-time cost insights and decision making. 

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Using IaC tools for automated resource management. 

Automation: Automating cost management tasks using scripting languages. 

Well-Architected Framework: Applying the cloud provider's well-architected framework's cost optimization principles. 

Third-party Tools: Using third-party cost management tools for additional insights. 

  • Best Practices: Following cost optimization best practices and promoting a cost-conscious culture. 
  • Data Analysis: Analysing cost and usage data for identifying optimization opportunities. 
  • Experienced in basic Finance & Accounting principles (budgeting, accruals, NPV, ROI etc.) 
  • Experience in working across diverse cultures and geographies is advantageous.
