Job Description
Are you looking for the best place to apply your current Scrum Master skills and further develop them by working with some of the most dynamic and innovative minds around?
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Scrum Master with a minimum of four years of experience in delivering data and software development projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully guiding cross-functional teams in the implementation of Agile methodologies, with a strong focus on continuous improvement, stakeholder collaboration, and the delivery of high-quality products.
As a Scrum Master, you will play a key role in driving the Agile process, removing impediments, and ensuring the team is aligned with the project goals.
Work you’ll do:
1. Agile Facilitation:
- Serve as the Scrum Master for multiple Agile teams, facilitating all Scrum ceremonies including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
Guide teams in the effective use of Agile practices and principles to deliver high-quality products.
Ensure that the Scrum framework is implemented and adhered to within the teams, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
2. Project Delivery:
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Development Teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that the project’s vision, goals, and objectives are clearly understood and followed.
- Support the team in breaking down complex data and software development tasks into manageable increments that can be delivered within a sprint.
- Track and communicate project progress, velocity, and sprint/release goals to all stakeholders.
3. Impediment Removal:
- Proactively identify and resolve any impediments or obstacles that may hinder the team’s progress.
- Collaborate with external teams and management to remove dependencies and external blockers.
- Support the team in managing risks and dependencies to ensure timely delivery.
4 Team Development:
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment where team members can thrive.
- Mentor and coach team members on Agile best practices, helping them to become self-organized and accountable.
- Encourage a culture of feedback and continuous learning within the team.
5. Stakeholder Management:
- Maintain open and effective communication with all project stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
- Act as a bridge between the development team and stakeholders, managing expectations and fostering transparency.
- Facilitate discussions, decision making, and conflict resolution within the team.
6. Continuous Improvement:
- Lead retrospectives to identify areas for improvement and implement actionable plans.
- Encourage the adoption of best practices and innovative approaches to enhance team efficiency and product quality.
- Stay current with industry trends, Agile methodologies, and emerging technologies to continuously refine the team's processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc., B.Eng, B.Tech., HND, etc.) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field with a minimum of second class upper degree/upper credit.
- Have minimum of a credit in five (5) O ’levels subjects including Mathematics and English in one sitting only.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience as a Scrum Master, specifically in data and software development projects.
- Experience working with agile development methodologies such as Sprint and Scrum.
- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and Lean practices.
- Proven experience in delivering projects in a fast-paced, complex environment.
- Strong knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and data management practices.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Trello, or similar project management software.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification is preferred.
