Deloitte is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced ESG Professional with a growth focused background that could include organic and/or inorganic growth to support existing and develop new clients for the ESG practice. The professional required will need to exhibit strong entrepreneurial and technical traits, as well as an understanding of the shifts and trends in the way company's are demanding ESG solutions on their path to Netzero.

The ideal person will thrive working in an integrated, inter-disciplinary ESG team made up of advisory, consulting and ESG disciplines., skill sets across the broader Deloitte business. Although an industry-agnostic role, exposure to consumer, ERI, TMT, FSI and GPS will be preferred. This professional will also need the gravitas and track record to be trusted in the market whilst also having the commercial savvy to negotiate alternate fee arrangements as and when required.

Main Purpose of Job

To be part of the ESG team enabling clients to ensure ESG compliance, regulatory and statutory requirements are understood and where appropriate action is taken (full end-to-end perspective). Our clients are pursuing ESG ambitions at varying maturity levels and therefore the main purpose of this role will be to connect actionable insights to the ESG ambitions across Africa. You will need to apply your technical knowledge base to help drive change across the business to enable clients to transition to a more sustainable business.

We are looking for Industrial Engineers, Environmental Scientists, Environmental Economics, Geosciences, Disaster Risk Management:

· Completed university graduate degree

· Experience with permitting processes, regulatory compliance, impact assessment, management systems and ESG management planning is required.

· Top-tier management consulting or other professional services experience and roles, including functional practice management and ESG consulting.

· Proven business development experience and a track record working at senior level is critical, ideally focused on ESG solutions-based practice growth.

Preferred

· A demonstration of experience from business concept through to operational and decommissioning would be an added advantage, especially in terms of ESG abatement and resilience aspects.

· Professional certification within the ESG profession e.g. CRM Prof., Pr. Sci. Nat., EAPASA
