We currently have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic person to join Deloitte East Africa in the Office of the Chief Executive Officer (OCEO) as a Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Associate. This position will be based in our Kenya office.
Job Description
Main purpose of the job
Reporting to the East Africa Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CR&S) Leader, the holder of this role will be responsible for supporting the implementation Deloitte East Africa’s WorldClass strategy to impact 1.65 million lives in East Africa by 2030. He/she will be focused on aligning internal stakeholders and maintaining an ecosystem of external partners to support the execution of our social impact initiatives across East Africa.
What you will do
- Support the development and implementation of Deloitte East Africa’s WorldClass and WorldClimate strategies;
- Coordinate with WorldClass leaders across East Africa and act as East Africa’s representative in the Africa WorldClass Community of Practice;
- Act as a program coordinator for the Jenga na Deloitte innovation hub for entrepreneurs, particularly managing stakeholder relationships, program schedules and events;
- Devise strategies to facilitate Deloitte’s target to net zero carbon emissions by 2030;
- Grow awareness across the Firm about WorldClass through sharing stories of impact, and lead the delivery of social impact communications across the East Africa region, both internally and externally;
- Help coordinate social impact activities with Deloitte staff and provide necessary support to external stakeholders;
- Drive annual Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting to ensure accuracy, tracking staff hours spent on community service and social impact, and recommend changes to enhance impact;
- Collaborate with operations team to facilitate annual sustainability reporting for Africa Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions;
- Develop reports for WorldClass Community of Practice/MANCO as appropriate; and
- Provide inputs to the Chief of Staff, OCEO towards the WorldClass budget on an annual basis.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
- Working knowledge of basic project management methods, and experience delivering projects and aligning stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
- Experience in the social sector or social impact projects (volunteer experience is acceptable).
- Working knowledge of design thinking is a significant added advantage.
- Fluency in English and Swahili.
