Job Description
Your daily responsibilities would involve:
- Working closely with several project managers and PMO Specialists on Capital projects within the portfolio
- Proactively monitoring Project progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action together with allocated project managers
- Implementing governance arrangements across multiple projects
- managing multiple project budget, monitoring expenditure and costs as the project progresses
· Highly numerate, with strong financial management to manage budget and funding channels
- facilitating the appointment of individuals to project teams
- ensuring the delivery of new products or services from projects is to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the project plan and project governance arrangements
- ensuring there is allocation of common resources and skills within individual projects
- managing communication with all stakeholders
- managing both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects
- managing risks to the project’s successful outcome
- Understanding how different projects interlink and overlap
- Reporting on portfolio performance to the Head of department
- Ensuring relevant standards, process and regulations are upheld
- Attend monthly steering committee meetings on all projects
Requirements:
· Proven experience as a Program Manager or other managerial position
· Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
· Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
· Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of program/project management software (eg. MS Project etc.) is a strong advantage
· Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
· Excellent communication skills
· Excellent problem-solving ability
· Ability to prioritize and multi-task
Qualifications
Qualification
· Minimum of 4-year tertiary qualification (e.g. BBusSci, Bcom Information Systems/Informatics, Bcom Bus Mgt), Degree/Diploma Project Management
· PMI/Prince2 Certification.
· PMBOK
· Agile/SCRUM Certification
· A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in similar role. (Including experience in managing resources, facilitation with technical teams and stakeholders).
