Director, Internal Communications
- Full-time
Company Description
Job Description
We are on the lookout for a Director, Internal Communications to join the People & Culture team on our journey to always deliver amazing experiences.
As the Director of Internal Communications, you will lead the internal communications function at Delivery Hero, defining the overall corporate narrative, structure, and governance to drive clarity, alignment, and engagement across our organisation.
Reporting to the Senior Director, People & Culture, you will act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership. This is a Director-level leadership role designed for a "manager of a function" who seamlessly bridges the gap between high-level strategic planning and hands-on execution. You are someone who can set the vision for our internal channels, coach a dedicated team, and roll up your sleeves to personally craft critical communications when the situation demands it.
Strategy & Narrative Ownership: Define, own, and execute the internal communications strategy and narrative, ensuring absolute alignment with Delivery Hero's core business priorities.
Executive Advisory & Crisis Support: Act as a trusted strategic advisor to senior leadership on internal positioning and organisational changes. Personally craft high-stakes communication materials and develop robust manager enablement toolkits for complex or crises.
Functional Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the Internal Communications team, optimising the function's operating model, workflows, and process efficiencies.
Company-Wide Moments: Own and oversee major corporate communication touchpoints, including All Hands, strategic business updates, People Communications, and large-scale transformation topics.
Governance & Channel Excellence: Establish and enforce clear communication governance, messaging frameworks, and channel strategies (e.g., Slack, Allhands) across the organisation to ensure consistency and transparency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with External Communications, Employer Branding, HR, and Legal to ensure a seamless alignment between internal reality and external brand messaging.
Data-Driven Optimisation: Define key success metrics to continuously measure, evaluate, and improve the effectiveness of internal communication channels and campaigns.
Qualifications
Proven Track Record: 8+ years of experience in Corporate Communications, with a deep specialisation in Internal Communications within a fast-paced, global, or scaled environment.
Director Leadership Mindset: Proven experience as a "manager of a function." You are highly comfortable making autonomous operational decisions, improving departmental processes, and coaching team members to success.
Strategic Execution: Demonstrated ability to move seamlessly from high-level strategic planning to tactical, hands-on oversight and content creation.
Master Storyteller: Exceptional capability to craft compelling, transparent, and culturally aligned narratives tailored to a highly diverse, international employee base.
Hands-on Capability: A "roll up your sleeves" attitude. You possess the elite writing and editing skills required to personally draft sensitive executive communications or toolkits on short notice.
Stakeholder & Crisis Management: Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and advise C-level stakeholders, navigate cross-functional complexities (HR, Legal, PR), and maintain composure under pressure.
Project Management: Exceptional organisational skills to manage multiple complex, high-visibility workstreams simultaneously.
Language: Native-level or completely fluent, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
