Job Description
The primary role of the Senior Accountant is to ensure that the financial information is complete and accurate. This is achieved through timely execution of bookkeeping activities and associated cadences, including the preparation of accounting records and data which feed into the team’s reporting obligations. You should have a keen eye for detail, a strong desire to keep learning and enjoy upholding high standards of excellence in the services you deliver. Operating in a fast-paced environment you are able to adapt quickly, manage workloads and meet deadlines with support and oversight. You have excellent communication skills and approach tasks with a problem-solving attitude, with a constant lens of continuous improvement.
As Accounts Payable, you will be responsible for:
- Communicates with vendors and processes Vendor Bills
- Process payments and secure that receipts are forwarded to vendors
- Prepares BIR requirements such as BIR 2307, VAT & withholding Tax on Compensation, etc.
- Liaise with banks and third-party auditing firms for Business needs
- Create and validate Vendor requirements before posting to Netsuite
- Make journal entries for the month-end closing
- Prepare necessary reports used for Budget and Funding
- Update bank balances daily
- Do bank reconciliations
- Report and update to manager on any issues encountered by the team for resolution
- Perform other tasks assigned by Management
As General Ledger, you will be responsible for:
- Preparation and posting of journal entries for the designated DBC affiliates
- Process month-end entries, accruals, prepayments, amortization, and other adjustments
- Maintain fixed asset register and fixed asset related entries
- Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, preparation of supporting analysis and schedules
- Communicate reconciling items on the balance sheet for disposition
- Ensures GL account balances and trial balances are appropriately reconciled
- Preparation of B/S & P&L fluctuation analysis and other adhoc financial reports as requested by supervisor/management
- Oversee tax and financial regulatory compliance of the designated entities
- Communicate any potential risk arising from non-compliance
- Ensure compliance to all finance policies and internal controls
- Policies and helps in the implementation of internal controls
- Support auditor in conducting internal and external audits
- Other general accounting tasks specifically for the assigned entities such as creating/ updating process documentations, participate in the back up continuity plan, knowledge sharing, etc.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Financial Management
Must be a Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
More than 5 years of professional experience in Record to Report or General accounting processes and Accounts Payable (end to end)
Preferably with working experience working in an SSC or BPO environment and exposure in establishing new processes, documentations and initiating process improvement projects thereafter
Previous knowledge and experience in month end processes and accounting adjustments, including accruals and prepayments
Analysis skills and the ability to identify and understand variances and trends
Well-developed computer skills – MS365 Suite and other accounting systems such as Xero, Netsuite, etc.
Basic knowledge in Continuous Process Improvement
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
Self motivated with a desire to learn
Highly organised with the ability to work under pressure and within set deadlines
