Job Description

The VP of Marketing, Sales and Commercial Training will lead the Hematology franchise including setting brand and sales strategy, sales execution and commercial training.  In addition, this position will lead marketing and sales efforts for other follow-on molecules within Deciphera’s and Ono’s Hematology portfolio. 

Key Responsibilities

Develop and Maintain Go-To-Market Plans for the launch of Products in PCNSL (40%)

  • Lead Cross Functional Launch Readiness Workstreams.
  • Build and implement the Marketing plan encompassing all areas of responsibility including marketing strategy, brand development, promotions, digital marketing, patient marketing, and marketing operations.
  • Recruit, motivate, develop, and retain a team of highly skilled marketing professionals.

Build and Lead the Hematology Sales Team (40%)

  • Develop the vision, structure, talent base, capabilities and operating model of the hematology organization. 
  • Build and lead a high-performing oncology sales organization including determining sales force size and structure and customer engagement model for products.
  • Design, build, and deliver a comprehensive sales training curriculum.
  • Serve as an internal consultant for special projects.
  • Facilitate onboarding of new program team members, etc.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned (20%)

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree with 20+.years of experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries including at least 5-7 years in marketing senior and 5-7 years in senior sales leadership roles (including second line leadership). 
  • Oncology launch experience is required, Hematology preferred; oral oncolytic experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience building teams and commercial capabilities is required.

Preferred Experience

  • Existing relationships with key customers are highly valued (e.g., KOLs, key account leadership, oncology societies, GPOs, etc.)
  • Experience in and understanding of other commercial functions (e.g., marketing, market access, sales operations, sales training, insights/analytics, business development, etc.) will be an important consideration for this role.
  • Sales force build preferred.
  • Experience with informing investment decisions for future development preferred.

Additional Information

Deciphera is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary pay range for this role is $268,000 - $368,000. Actual compensation packages will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to depth of experience, education, skillset, overall performance and/or location.​
