Job Description
Junior Legal Project Manager — Role Description
You do not need to meet every criterion listed below. If this role appeals to you, we encourage you to apply.
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Legal Project Manager to join our Legal Data and Project Management (LDPM) team. This is a role designed for someone at the early stages of their career who wants to work at the intersection of law, project management, and data.
You will support lawyers and legal teams in delivering high-quality, structured, and efficient client service while helping to keep projects on track, information accessible, and processes running smoothly. Your responsibilities will grow with you: the focus early on will be clean execution and reliable support, with increasing ownership over time.
This role is based in Amsterdam and offers a hybrid working arrangement of 3 days per week in the office and 2 days from home.
Your key activities will include:
- Coordinating legal projects and acting as a central point of contact between lawyers, Finance, IT, and external counsel
- Supporting budget tracking, planning, reporting, and matter coordination
- Preparing analyses, dashboards, and slide decks to support (senior) project managers and stakeholders
- Handling administrative tasks accurately and independently
- Collaborating with Data Assistants and Data Science students to automate and improve processes, and together contributing to new ways of working
- Supporting the team's innovation agenda by engaging with legal tech, data tools, and process improvement initiatives
Who Are You?
You are curious, organised, and motivated to build a career in a legal environment. You do not need to tick every box, what matters is your attitude and your willingness to learn.
- You have completed a BSc or MSc degree in Law, Legal Tech, Business Administration, Economics, Tax Law, or a related field with a strong affinity for technology and innovation
- You have 0 to 5 years of relevant experience; both fresh graduates and early-career professionals are welcome
- You have an affinity with project management methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, PRINCE2 etc.) or are eager to learn
- You have an understanding of, or a genuine interest in learning, how to map, analyse, and draft proposals for business processes across legal, financial, and operational workflows and how to translate these into practical, structured improvements
- You are comfortable with data and keen to develop your skills in Excel and PowerPoint
- You have an affinity with technology and are open to engaging with legal tech and AI tools
- You are a strong communicator, detail-oriented, and reliable under pressure
- You are collaborative by nature and open to working with both senior project manager and data (science) assistants within the team to create and improve together
- A good command of English is required; Dutch is a plus.
