Job Description

Position: Delivery Manager, Digital & Technology

Terms: Fulltime Permanent (34 hours/ 4-day week)

Reporting: Director, Digital & Technology

Location: Team is based out of our Vancouver Office. We will consider great candidates who live in/ near Toronto or Montreal as an option to work remote/ hybrid model

Compensation: 60-70k based on experience

You and the Role

You are an adaptable, collaborative and solutions-seeking Delivery Manager. This role is critical to the digital and technology strategy, and to enable our team to deliver the right products and services to connect and empower our growing community of supporters and staff to take action in support of DSF’s mission.

Reporting to the Director of Digital & Technology, you work across the various services (digital strategy, web, email, SMS, CRM systems, enterprise systems) in the Digital & Technology department, and externally with key stakeholders across the organization to lead, improve and manage our delivery processes.

With our talented team holding the vision for our digital strategy and dependent products and services, we are looking for someone to coalesce the team’s work and processes, keep everything on track and ultimately lead to successful, timely delivery of these critical digital products and services to the organization.

Who You Are

You are someone who focuses on understanding your customers and stakeholders, seeking to provide them services that meet their needs. You are enthusiastic about uncovering and solving delivery challenges by leveraging your project management and technology delivery experience as well as tools from Agile and Kanban methods.

You know how to adapt processes, practices and tools to meet a specific teams’ needs and are familiar with various delivery methodologies.

You are a curious learner who keeps on top of new practices and tools to ensure you can set up the right environment for the team to do their best work and continue to evolve this as needed to optimize for delivery and team health and happiness.

You are an excellent facilitator, diplomat and coach who supports our Director with strategic and annual planning, financial management and measuring, and improving our team’s work management, collaboration and communication processes.

Your Responsibilities - as our Delivery Manager you will:

  • Create a Digital & Technology initiatives roadmap
    • Define communication processes to provide regular status updates to our team, stakeholders and the executive team
    • Create format and content for regular Digital & Technology updates to the entire organization
    • Translate this high-level roadmap into work plans for each of the delivery teams
  • Design, implement and lead team collaborative and planning processes, including team stand-ups, reviews and workshops.
    • Facilitate the delivery flow of our team, managing pace and tempo
    • Evaluate and improve intake processes and templates and tools for all requests into our team
    • Hold the bigger picture for our team: support prioritizing work against capacities and capabilities - and ensure we collaborate, communicate and focuses on what is most important.
    • Enable us to deliver value by setting up the right environment for us to do our best work and succeed
    • Create a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, learning and transparency
    • Build trust within our team. Help us to self-organize. Manage team dynamics and ensure we are motivated, productive and happy.
  • Develop into a mentor of Agile practices on the team and coach team members and others.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement and apply the most appropriate Agile and project management tools and techniques for the environment.
  • Proactively manage dependencies, risks and issues.
  • Overcome obstacles in order to deliver the most impact in a resource-constrained environment.
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships and expectations outside of our team, be flexible in facilitating discussion styles.
  • Support our Director with development of KPI’s for the delivery of Digital and Technology products and services. Measure, evaluate and support improving performance against KPI’s.
  • Manage and track budget and financials for Digital & Technology initiatives.

Qualifications

Skills, Experience and Knowledge Required

Your Education and Experience

  • 3-5+ years of delivery management experience including delivering technology products and services, managing change, and adoption of technology across geographically distributed organizations.
  • Effective organizational skills acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or lived experience equivalent in administration, Digital, IT or business. Knowledge of accounting, digital and IT is important.
  • Range of project management and Agile methodology experience required. Bonus points for Kanban experience and accreditation.
  • Expert in managing relationships across various stakeholders and adapting your style accordingly, from team members to executives.
  • Expert in managing vendors, and associated contracts, to manage and deliver projects within budget, timeline and scope.
  • Expert at designing, implementing and adapting processes to improve integration and co-ordination across multiple, geographically diverse teams.
  • Highly disciplined approach to strategy; you've demonstrated your ability to effectively realize a complex vision with a diverse team — bonus points if you've already worked with a geographically distributed team or matrix management system.
  • Passionate about equity, diversity and inclusion with the ability to support purposeful change.
