Summary and purpose of the Job:
Several opportunities for entry level Junior IT Security Consultants are available within the Penetration Testing team at Wavenet CyberGuard, one of the largest groups of cyber security professionals within the UK.
We are seeking applications from technically proficient individuals with a keen interest and enthusiasm for penetration testing and IT security, who can demonstrate a strong passion and determination to excel in what is a fast paced and dynamic environment.
As these are entry level positions the presence of a degree should not be a bar to your application and evidence of active engagement in self-testing and training, especially without commercial experience, such as performing penetration testing in a localised environment would be advantageous to your application. This is a home based role, however there will be travel to, and work from client and Wavenet locations as and when required. These visits may involve overnight hotel stays.
Qualifications
The following skills should be considered prior to your application:
- A solid understanding of computer networking and Operating Systems, in particular *Nix systems.
- A good background and understanding of cybersecurity, with a knowledge of penetration testing frameworks and methodologies.
- Strong client facing skills.
- A team player, capable of interacting with all colleagues.
- A good grasp of English language and grammar.
- The ability to produce detailed reports that outline identified vulnerabilities and provide sensible recommendation for remediation.
- Personal time management and organisation.
- Ability to meet tight turnaround times and deadlines.
- Be UK-based/Resident in the UK for five plus years.
- Be able to obtain and retain UK Security Clearance (SC) as a minimum, with further enhanced security clearance levels as required and dictated by the business (Further details here - https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels).
Desirable:
- Experience of scripting and coding languages.
- Certifications such as Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) and/or experience with online cyber security training platforms.
- Own method of transport.
