Job Description
Our Network Change Management department is currently recruiting for a National Operations Manager to join their team. Within this role you will be supporting a number of Depots through short-term and medium-term depot management, operational project support and drive change management across our Network.
You will be supported to obtain and develop the required skills to ensure you are prepared for the next step into a more senior Operational Management Role. Other key areas of responsibility
In this role you will learn about all aspects of our operations processes and procedures to include:
Drive Business KPIs; including Service, Operational Compliance and Cost
Support continuous improvement through detailed review of operational platforms to drive operational excellence
Specialist understanding of automated sortation equipment, including contingency planning
Facilitate the operational requirements of new depot openings, integrations and closures
Manage operational elements of IT Projects, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Training to include mentoring and development of Designates, Graduates and Direct Report
You will also be required to take part in Depot Operational Support as required, which will involve physical and remote intervention when a Depot encounters unforeseen operational challenges and identifying new opportunities for continuous improvement while supporting. This includes process, planning, implementation of lasting change. Becoming proficient in all the above areas will enable you to be a success in this role
Qualifications

Have a sound analytical understanding and ability to interpret data.
A strong awareness of Lean processes and change management within a fast paced distribution or similar operational setting would be preferred
Knowledge of continuous improvement strategies
Solid commercial and financial awareness

Additional Information
Job Specifics
Typically this role will be working Monday to Friday although we are a 24/7 operation so flexibility is key as some night and weekend working will be occasionally required.
This role will require you to work remotely and various locations, predominantly in the Depots mentioned previously however there may be times that you are required to work at any of our depot locations Nationwide.
A full driving licence, together with an expectation to undertake UK travel and stay away from home overnight when required.
