We are currently recruiting a International Linehaul Shift Manager, on a 6 month fixed term contract to help strengthen our team and help us achieve ever-greater heights. Could this be you?

In this role you will be part of the traffic office management team on nights who ensure the smooth running of our Linehaul operation. You will be based at our International Gateway hub and will be responsible for engaging, motivating and managing Class 1 Drivers in order to achieve operational Key Performance Indicators. 

Other key focuses will be;

• Liaising closely with the International Gateway team and controlling and organising international routes following a planned allocation

• Ensuring all allocated trailers are positioned on site correctly and following up with contractors in case of any trailer changes and delays 

• Ensuring subcontractor drivers are on site and available to collect routes at the correct time

• Reporting any driver non-compliance, including being late for collection or compliance issues

• Communicating between IG management and contractors to ensure the smooth running of the International operation

• Reporting and communicating with the relevant teams about  breakdowns, traffic delays and accidents.

• Handing over a full report to the International Linehaul Day team to communicate a summary of the international operation and if any incidents need following up

What we’re looking for

• Excellent communication skills are essential with the ability to inspire, motivate and manage a team.

• You will have experience in a fast paced operation with proven and demonstrable people management experience, ideally driver management within a transport setting. 

• Decisive and effective decision-making, problem resolution and time management skills.

• Demonstrate high levels of resilience, self-motivation and flexibility.

• Excellent computer skills with the ability to use Google chrome applications

• The ability to do comprehensive reporting, alongside analysis of data is a key requirement for this role.

Job Specifics

You will have a thorough induction to the Linehaul operation as well as a comprehensive induction to DPD. 

This role is 6 month FTC and will be working on Nights.
