Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity to join DNAnexus as a Bioinformatics Scientist within our Global Care organization. As a Bioinformatics Scientist, you will be responsible for increasing our Customer’s utilization of DNAnexus technology solutions. You will do this by providing scientific and technical support, equipping customers with the information / tools required to address their healthcare challenges.

  • proficient in troubleshooting technical and scientific challenges and providing high-quality resolutions to Customers in a timely manner
  • able to develop and maintain internal and Customer-facing product assets (such as online documentation, FAQs, videos, etc.)
  • experienced in managing Customer engagements cases and providing feedback to the partner departments for continuous improvements in the Customer experience

Qualifications

  • Degree in bioinformatics, software engineering, or related biotechnology field or equivalent experience.
  • Fluency in at least one programming language (Python, BASH, C++, Java, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of the concepts of genomics and molecular biology
  • Solid understanding of NGS and its application
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to work with cross-functional teams to identify and solve customer-related issues
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Dedicated to providing outstanding customer service
  • 1-2 years experience in a customer-facing role is strongly preferred
  • Hands-on experience with handling and resolving complex technical issues 
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software (preferably, Salesforce) is strongly preferred
  • Highly proficient in the use of office products such as Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, such as AWS or Azure 

Desired Skills

Below are the skills that are highly desirable, but are not required.  DNAnexus will provide the necessary training to qualified candidates:

  • Knowledge of secondary or tertiary analysis tools and pipeline tools/development for NGS workflows
  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
  • Experience with WDL
