Job Description
DENSO International Europe, located in Amsterdam, currently has an opening for a highly motivated and solutions-oriented Assistant Manager to join its EU Corporate Communications Department at Regional Headquarters in Amsterdam.
This role has a primary focus on Editorial and Content Management and an additional focus on supporting the Head of EU Corporate Communications Department (EUCC) in ensuring the daily and year-on-year management and delivery of the department’s goals and objectives.
In this role you will work as part of a team helping to build and strengthen DENSO’s image, reputation, and relationships with internal and external stakeholders while working closely with colleagues and relevant agency, partner, and supplier contacts to ensure that communications programs are carried out effectively. Your success in this role will depend largely on your proactive and positive mindset, your compatibility with EUCC values, and your ability to directly apply your knowledge and experience with immediate effect.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Align closely with Head of EUCC, grasp the vision and strategy of EUCC, and take active lead on the development and execution of content-driven programs and initiatives to support DENSO Europe’s business and organization.
- Upon hiring, immediately take responsibility for content research, development, and consistent, high-quality publishing across EUCC’s communication channels, including but not limited to:
- DENSO Connection Europe (Online and Screen);
- DENSO Europe Social Media Channels (LI, IG, FB, YT);
- DENSO Corporate Website and Newsroom; and
- Platforms in conceptualization or nascent stages that may be launched in the future. - Foster consistent and on-brand communication across channels and audiences through in-depth knowledge and understanding of DENSO as a brand and DENSO as an organization.
- Lead regional editorial alignment meetings with EUCC network of contacts as participants, developing and enforcing a system of info- and update-sharing to support editorial planning at CC RHQ level.
- Attend global editorial alignment meetings, sharing EUCC updates with GHQ CC and other regional CC teams and promoting EUCC’s visibility and reputation at CC GHQ level.
- Coordinate and align the efforts of colleagues, collaborators, agencies, and other suppliers manage projects, from initial briefing through effective execution, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of agreed upon outputs.
- Build and nurture working relationships with colleagues and counterparts within DENSO’s global organization, maximizing opportunities for yokoten (knowledge or best practice exchange) and mutually beneficial collaboration.
- Maximize growth potential within the role of assistant manager, with a keen eye towards:
- Monitoring the progress of ongoing communication projects and/or EUCC department initiatives, providing regular updates to the Head of EUCC.
- Flagging and discussing (potential) issues with Head of EUCC, recommending and applying adjustments or countermeasures where necessary.
- Proactively identifying opportunities, ideas, and actions towards EUCC’s continuous improvement.
- Collaborating with, providing guidance to, and mentoring (junior) members or trainees within the EUCC team, as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor / Master degree specialized in communications, corporate communications, communication management, marketing or a related field.
- Additional training in project management and sustainability reporting are significant advantages.
- Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience working within a global multicultural organization as a (senior) communications specialist with extensive experience working with content management systems across enterprise platforms and digital and social media.
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in developing and producing a wide scope of high-quality content (from newsletter articles, press releases, and social media content, to speeches, presentations, and audio-video scripts) appropriately targeted towards DENSO Europe’s different stakeholders.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is a must. Knowledge of Japanese, Dutch, or other DENSO Europe official language would be an advantage. - Use and maximization of relevant software and applications
- Proficiency in M365 applications and functionalities
- Working knowledge of design software (Adobe Creative Suite) would be an advantage, as well an understanding of human-led, AI-enabled editorial and creative workflows. - Project management skills
- Proficiency in editorial planning, content research and development, and publishing across parallel internal and external channels
- Proficiency in collaborating with and/or coordinating the efforts of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of projects.
- Visual communication, pitching/presentation, event planning, and event organization skills would be an advantage.
