Job Description

Customized Energy Solutions (CES) is seeking a Senior Analyst to join its Retail Market Services team, delivering strategic wholesale energy market services to retail energy market participants. The successful candidate will join an experienced and fast-paced team of energy professionals working to deliver best-in-class service to our clients at the epicenter of some of the industry’s most dynamic and challenging problems. This is a full-time role based in our Philadelphia office, offering a flexible hybrid work arrangement that combines in-office and remote work.

Representative Duties

  • Develop, execute, maintain, and iterate on dynamic models in support of the Retail Market Services team’s functional service offerings including Load Forecasting, Pricing, Settlement, Risk Management, and Financial Planning & Analysis.
  • Lead team support of client market operations through oversight of and accountability for delivery of functional service offerings.
  • Maintain and develop metric reporting on delivery of services, performance thereof, and underlying drivers.
  • Advance improvement plans and recommendations for operational optimization in support of service delivery.
  • Contribute actively to internal strategic team meetings and drive independent workstreams in the context of broader team goals.
  • Support internal process automation efforts across Retail Market Services functions through discovery, documentation, and representation of business requirements and functional specifications within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Support User Acceptance Testing within the SDLC.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and cross-organizationally to drive process efficiencies in dependent business service offerings and workflows (EDI, Billing, Client Management, Data Warehousing, etc.).
  • Provide support and coordination across team functions to drive operational execution and delivery of ad hoc client consulting projects.
  • Develop, establish, and maintain strong client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Experience – 4+ years of experience and demonstrated success in a data analysis or equivalent (statistical, analytical, problem-solving) role. Energy industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Leadership and Collaboration – Proven experience managing delivery of complex and diverse projects, independently, and in teams. Ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and direction to team members. Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional and cross-organizational teams.
  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in STEM, business, finance, or economics preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency – Fluency in relevant software tools and programming languages. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must, including but not limited to familiarity with Excel analysis tools, advanced analysis/lookup functions, modeling, manipulation of large data sets, etc. Familiarity with SQL is preferred.
  • Problem-Solving – Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to approach challenges creatively, from a systems perspective, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Communication Skills – Excellent oral and written communication skills for effectively conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The ability to present insights and recommendations in a clear and concise manner is essential.
  • Location – This is a hybrid role based out of our Philadelphia office.
