Job Description

Your Opportunity 

This is a Maximum-Term Contract (up to 2 years).

In this role, you’ll leverage your technical skills to develop, maintain, and support innovative solutions that solve real-world challenges in the payments industry. From designing and building scalable systems to ensuring seamless integration with key technologies, your work will directly impact millions of users. 

You’ll also make an impact by:

  • Strategic External Engagement
    • Serve as the primary architectural liaison for external stakeholders, aligning strategic objectives with client expectations.
    • Lead high-level strategic discussions with clients to deeply understand their business environment and technology landscape.
       
  • Governance and Policy Development
    • Establish robust governance frameworks that standardize architectural practices and ensure compliance.
    • Develop, review, and enforce architectural policies that reflect current industry standards, associated design patterns and regulatory requirements.
       
  • Client Advocacy and Relationship Management
    • Maintain and enhance relationships with key clients, ensuring their architectural needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
    • Establish and track performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of architectural initiatives and their impact on client outcomes.
       
  • Innovation and Best Practices Implementation
    • Identify and integrate industry innovations and best practices into the architectural strategy to maintain competitive advantage and organisation agility.
    • Champion the adoption of new technologies that align with both client needs and the organization’s strategic goals.
       
  • Collaborative Strategy Formulation
    • Collaborate and co-ordinate with Enterprise Architect and Solution architects to ensure that external strategies are seamlessly integrated with internal capabilities and business strategies.
    • Coordinate strategic alignment sessions with both internal teams and clients to ensure cohesive execution and implementation.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring 

To succeed in this role, you’ll have: 

  • Strong leadership skills, along with exceptional soft and interpersonal skills, including in teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
  • Strong consulting skills, such as in targeted communications, engagement management, stakeholder management and business development.
  • Organisationally savvy, with situational and contextual intelligence about the political climate of the enterprise and how to navigate obstacles and politics.
  • Balances the long-term (“big picture”) and short-term implications of individual decisions and organisation goals.
  • Ready to think, behave and act in an innovative consulting manner to drive the organisation’s digital business strategies. Be a creative problem solver or facilitator to ensure there are not prolonged periods of stalemate or re-litigation of technology issues.
  • Understands and speaks the language of the business.

You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have some of the following:

  • Financial Services industry experience
  • Engineering experience
