Job Description
Reporting to the Technical Product Owner - Infrastructure, the Systems and DevOps Engineer are responsible for implementing, optimising, and maintaining Indue applications and services, both on-premises and in the cloud.
The System & DevOps Engineer will have a focus on quality delivery of infrastructure systems and services, enabling critical business applications, both on-premise and in the cloud. With scope across the full technology stack, the role will work closely with key stakeholders across the business and other technology teams within an agile environment to build highly scalable, resilient, and secure systems for hybrid and multi cloud platforms. To support ongoing business continuity this role supports rotating hours of work and after-hours support.
The Systems and DevOps Engineer will be responsible for:
- Implementation of solutions in-line with Indue standards, including completion of operationalisation activities.
- Contribute to development and maintenance of Infrastructure/DevOps Standards, required in delivery of project work
- Delivery of advice and guidance in relation to provisioning the environments with standards defined in Cloud & On-Prem using IaaC.
- Regularly monitor and prioritise support items, taking into account their potential impact, SLAs, timeframe constraints, capacity constraints and any other relevant factors.
- Development and maintenance of resilient, recoverable, stable, and highly available infrastructure.
- Actively involved in monitoring and responding to alerts receive
Qualifications
To be successful in this position you will have the following skills and experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in a DevOps Engineer role or similar (Platform Engineer/SRE)
- In-depth knowledge of RedHat Linux and/or Microsoft Windows Server operating systems.
- Demonstrated experience using DevOps practices and tools to deliver and manage infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience with infrastructure-as-code deployments and tooling (Eg Puppet, Terraform).
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop written technical documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, or independently as needed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Participation in the on-call rotating roster as well as completing out of hours work from time to time
