Job Description
The Sr. Staff Accountant will be responsible for sales and use tax, property tax coordination, payroll, freight, and account reconciliations, closing responsibilities, and audit questions. The position will report into the Assistant Controller. The leader will partner closely with the other members of the finance team in Cleveland, as well as the EXL in India.
Work location is Greenville, SC or Beachwood, OH with onsite requirement of a minimum of four days per week in the office.
Essential Responsibilities:
Finance and Accounting Leadership:
- Assist with internal, external and SOX compliance audits as requested by Accounting management
- Alert management of any issues that need to be corrected to prevent future exposure related to the areas of responsibility in warranty, buying groups, vendor rebates, and deductions.
- Manage the accounting for the warranty process for HLI. This includes understanding the amounts that run through the warranty P&L accounts as well as the lag accrual for warranty.
- Manage the vendor rebate process, maintain documentation, account for rebates in the correct accounting periods
- Responsible for assisting with accounts receivable deductions as requested by the accounts receivable team. This involves working with customers to resolve disputes.
- Manage the accounting and reporting for the off-invoice buying group discounts
- Responsible for ensuring that all property taxes, license fees (city and state), and any other miscellaneous taxes are pain in a timely manner
Qualifications
The desired candidate will have strong mathematical and analytical skills, be proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software. The candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills and will have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years professional experience in accounting and/or finance, and/or customer service
- Microsoft Office experience and strong proficiency in Excel
- SAP and BI experience preferred
Compensation
The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This salary range is 80,000-100,000.
