Job Description

We are seeking a Project Manager who will be responsible for leading New Product Development programs to develop and launch strategic Commercial Lighting and Life Safety Products for the global market. This is a highly visible position that will lead global cross functional teams from Technology, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Quality, Marketing, Manufacturing, Product Management, and Finance to deliver quality products on time, within budget, and with competitive features. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - EXPECTED ACTIVITIES:

  • Performs project planning, resourcing, supply and subcontract management, and progress reporting. Executes internal projects from initiation through completion.
  • Follows established stage gate processes to launch new products.
  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports that explicitly align the efforts of multiple functional specialties (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Technology, Finance, IT.)
  • Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
  • Provides project risk assessments and summary level project status reports.
  • Maintains schedule to ensure work is assigned and completed per committed dates.
  • Monitors progress and provide regular updates through the life cycle for designated projects.
  • Provides problem analysis and corrective action as needed.
  • Identifies procedural weaknesses and help coordinate solutions.
  • Develops budget for project(s) and ensure teams meet or exceed anticipated project benefits on-time, within budget, and with the desired level of quality.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects.

REPORTING & INTERFACING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports to Leader of Project Management.
  • Structure of Project Management is within Engineering department.
  • Works effectively with internal and external clients, third party vendors, and senior management in accomplishing project objectives.
  • Works with management teams to translate strategic objectives into executable projects, and to develop plans for achieving stated objectives.
  • Manages interpersonal dynamics within project teams (e.g., building consensus among sub-project owners, negotiating any changes to the project plan, and holding team members accountable for delivery on commitments made).
  • Provides project life cycle updates and delivers stage gate reports to key stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Possesses University Degree.
  • Approximately 6+ Years work experience including working with multiple sites/global teams.
  • Has in-depth knowledge in own discipline of Project Management and basic knowledge of related disciplines (engineering & lighting).
  • Preference for Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)

SKILLS:

  • Has in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
  • Understands of SAP, Power BI, MS Lists, MS Teams0
  • Works well independently and demonstrates ability to manage multiple priorities under limited supervision.
  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products/services or processes.
  • Demonstrates capability to lead multiple projects or project steps within a broader project and have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives.  Needs the ability to deliver results while working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing resources, timing, and quality of outcomes.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Possesses communication and presentation skills to audiences spanning senior management to subject matter experts.
  • Capable of determining project priorities, issuing tasks based on those priorities, and driving tasks to conclusion.
  • Capable of identifying project risks and garnering attention to those risks to effectively apply risk management.

LOCATION:

  • Travel is expected to be less than 5%.
  • Preference for onsite/in-person working at Greenville, SC office.

Compensation

The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more.  This salary range is $80,000-$95,000.
