Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Tax Staff Professional to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing sales and use tax processing, property tax returns processing, Ohio CAT Tax preparation, account reconciliations, journal entries, audit preparation, and assist with review of PO’s and Invoices as required. The candidate must possess strong analytical skills and be skilled in the use of SAP, Vertex, and PTMS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Prepare month end journal entries and reconciliations
- Prepare monthly sales/use tax related journal entries
- Collect, extract, and analyze data for tax reporting purposes.
- Prepare sales and use tax returns and property tax returns accurately and timely.
- Assist with questions on PO’s and Sales orders as required
- Review of exemption certificate accuracy
- Assist with compilation of data for tax audits
- Ohio Commercial Activity Tax return preparation
- Assist in the implementation of tax-related projects and process improvements.
- Keep abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in a tax role
- Strong knowledge of sales and Use tax laws and regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Vertex, Corptax, Sage software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, SAP, and ConnectWise
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- CPA or other relevant certification is a plus.
Compensation
The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This salary range is 65,000-70,000.
