We are currently recruiting for a Production Supervisor on a full time, permanent basis at our Minworth depot.
- Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday 13:45pm-22:15pm.
- Salary: £35,000 per annum.
Job Description
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Production Operations & Customer Service
- To provide leadership for the site Team and Line Leaders
- Follow the Operational Strategy
- Ensure compliance to Company and Legal requirements of H&S and Quality
- Liaise with other key department managers in logistics-based operations, to ensure co-pack operations are run efficiently
- Effectively manage client expectations to deliver a reliable co-pack service.
- Ensure production process efficiency targets are communicated and met
- Attend customer review meetings when required
- Ensure that labour efficiency targets are met
- Fully utilise systems available to drive Continuous Improvement in all areas of the operation
Health & Safety
- Work with Regional and Group safety manager on implementing Health and Safety management system for the depot.
- Monitor and manage the safety systems and training to ensure sites can effectively manage and report on health and safety areas.
- Attends site health and safety meetings, providing feedback as necessary
Quality
- Ensure a robust QMS is maintained across co-pack operations.
- Establish internal capability to protect business identity and client brands.
- To manage site team in order that core KPIs (Health and Safety, Quality and performance) can be achieved.
- Manage site to achieve budgeted requirements and adopt continuous improvement.
- Support Operations Manager with achieving commercial vision.
- Ensure Food/Product safety and Quality standards are implemented and maintained including adhering to all MHRA guidelines.
- Implement and maintain GMP and GDP standards on site.
Colleague Management
- Conduct disciplinary and grievance hearings in accordance with the companies’ procedures, and taking guidance from the HR manager when necessary
- Manage staff issues to prevent issues being escalated
- Set and monitor KPI’s of key Team and Line Leaders
- Conduct and take part in performance reviews (PDP’s) – including setting KPI’s for Team/Line Leaders
- Coach, support and mentor colleagues within the sites and support the development of an empowering culture through employee engagement.
Qualifications
- Experience of working within a production environment
- Preferably food or packing experience
- Experience of working in warehousing operation
- Ability to communicate in a positive and clear manner
- Ability to act as a role model for new ways of working
- Listen and encourage new ideas from others
- Experience of managing a team
- Ability to plan organise and prioritise work to strict deadlines
- Ability to plan workload and make best use of resources
- A commitment to respond to changing customer needs
- Contribute to and support new ways of working to increase efficiencies to respond to customer needs
- Recognises and promotes the importance of continuous improvement
- Displays a positive attitude to change
