Job Description

We are currently seeking a Transport Planner & Operations Support to join our Eventor F1 team at our Appleton Thorn site. 

As Transport Planner & Operations Support you will provide a plan that deploys the allocated resource pool in the most effective way, to ensure the plan meets all legal obligations in respect of WTD and EU Drivers Legislation.

You will maintain the Customer Service requirements of work allocated to the resource pool working to understand how to improve and maintain agreed customer and business KPI targets.

Working hours: Any 5 in 7 days, 08:00 - 17:00 (usually Monday to Friday but some flex will be needed)

Salary: Up to £29,000 per annum

Key Duties of Transport Planner and Operations Support include:

  • Operation compliance administration to support Transport Manager’s daily / weekly tasks.
  • Ensuring GTS housekeeping is constantly completed.
  • Depot logs are completed by specified time.
  • Input trailer numbers as soon as practical to do so.
  • Monitor and report empty legs for shift.
  • Monitor Time lapse and Restricted parking reports by specified time.
  • Complete Microlise debrief by specified time.
  • Report Microlise errors to central team.
  • Check resource availability for the shift.
  • Confirm driver start times for next day.
  • Monitor and report WTD issues / concerns to Operations team.
  • Ensuring there is ongoing verbal communication with the driving team to
  • supplement the use of Microlise
  • Ensuring there is clear daily communication between day and night shifts, utilising the night shift handover document
  • Utilising ‘n’ function in accordance with traffic lows to maximise resource.
  • Managing drivers hours in relation to customer requirements and volume demand
  • Understanding and achieving specific targets regarding utilisation, loaded, empty legs
  • Understanding and putting into practice communication from Team Leaders (via conference calls), particularly:

o Managing traffic flows

o Trailer type utilisation

o Monitoring TLC customers

  • Regularly assisting when required at drivers / debrief counter.

 

Maintaining Customer Performance by:

  • Reviewing allocated customers in assigned RP, ensuring work is planned to time and correct equipment.
  • Communicate with ESL Customer Services and Drivers, ensuring customer KPI targets are met.
  • Complete and report Benefits and Concerns on a weekly basis

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of WTD and EU Drivers Hours (Core)
  • CPC National Qualification (Not Mandatory)
  • Working knowledge of GTS, Microlise, MyFleet and Myworkforce
  • IT Literate including Microsoft word, excel and outlook
  • Ability to question, challenge and improve upon existing processes
