Job Description

CMI is seeking an Associate Consultant to join its Washington, DC, headquarters office immediately (working remotely until health conditions permit in-person operations), with a primary focus on supporting the GHG.  

Projects and client-related work for this position will include, for example: 

•    Supporting engagements between business executives, top government officials, and civil society leaders globally;
•    Managing the development and execution of conferences, meetings, and other uniquely crafted public-private engagements for clients, including staffing and logistical support;
•    Monitoring, researching, and analyzing domestic, regional, and international policy and regulatory issues, and assisting in the design, development, and implementation of strategies to help shape them;
•    Supporting survey design, deployment, and analysis to assess progress of policy implementation;
•    Identifying creative partnership or public affairs opportunities for clients and partners as they emerge, and proactively pursuing them;
•    Drafting of memos, presentations, talking points, briefing books, leave-behinds, and other materials to support internal client strategy development and external advocacy; and,
•    Supporting external marketing and communications efforts for client-led initiatives, including management of social media channels, websites, and email digests and newsletters.

The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of relevant experience, including internships. We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked on global health issues in the private sector, particularly in the biopharmaceutical and biotechnology companies or trade associations. Prior consulting experience is a plus. Salary is commensurate with experience.
 

Qualifications

Requirements:

•    A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., sciences, public health, policy, business administration)
•    1¬¬-3 years of relevant experience
•    Experience working in private sector on global health issues
•    Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a productive and committed work effort, meeting deadlines and managing workload with minimal supervision
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Proven ability to exercise discretion and judgement in vital tasks for clients and/or principals
•    Mission-driven, caring about details and constantly improving their skillset with feedback
•    Excellent research and analytical skills
•    Interpretive, creative, resourceful, tenacious, and entrepreneurial
•    Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, demanding environment
•    Willingness to undertake a diversity of tasks, from briefing senior executives to organizing events
•    Commitment to delivering the very highest level of client service
•    Willingness to work across global time zones (e.g., participate in calls in evenings U.S. ET)
•    Languages: English (required), Spanish (desired), Chinese (desired)
•    Some regional and international travel expected (when health conditions permit)
