As the new System Administrator you’ll be contributing to the success of the business by helping provide a seamless employee experience and establishing processes and systems that can scale with the company.

In 6 short years the business has grown to over 100 people with team members in Australia, the UK and the US. As with all businesses, as the organisation continues to grow, the demands on its internal IT systems and procedures also change. Acusensus was born in the cloud, meaning that you’ll be responsible for managing multiple SaaS applications, work from anywhere on laptops and a limited number of on-prem systems. 

The business is large enough to be secure and stable but small enough to not be hampered by policy and process. In other words, you can actually get things done and feel like you’re making an impact. 

Job Description

Your day to day will include:

  • Managing L1 employee support calls relating to; > Access requests & device support including staff laptops, desktops, iPads, mobile phones etc.
  • Maintaining roles and permissions across multiple SaaS applications including Google Workspace, Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Xero, AWS, and Slack.
  • Handling on/offboarding processes, delegating admin rights where appropriate.
  • Maintaining licensing for 3rd party tools.
  • Purchasing, setting up and maintaining laptops across the organisation.
  • Maintaining a limited amount of on-prem IT equipment (e.g. meeting room equipment, printer, fibre/wifi, monitors etc).
  • Creating and maintaining technical documents, policies and procedures.
  • Delivering training programs and workshops for staff as those needs become apparent.
  • Contributing to data security across the organisation, such as; > Regularly reporting on incidents and scans (internal risk register, KPIs, and customer-facing reports) > Supporting pre-sales, and audit activities with written content describing current and proposed future states of the security and privacy solution, > Implementing changes to reduce the likelihood and/or severity of key risks such as loss of AWS account, Jira/Confluence data, or potential data breaches.

Qualifications

Personal skills & experiences required:

  • 3 years + in an IT support or systems admin role.
  • An above average level of confidence, know-how and skill when it comes to implementing and maintaining organisation wide security controls and procedures.
  • The ability to analyse, diagnose and solve complex problems, communicate to senior decision makers in a clear, compelling way, and drive decisive action in partnership with others in a professional setting would be highly regarded.
  • A well-developed planning and organisation skillset along with strong attention to details are essential.
  • A systematic and methodical approach and effective prioritisation will be crucial.
  • An ability to build positive working relationships with internal teams and customers will also be a key to success in this role.

The technical skill requirements for the role are:

  • Commercial experience with Windows and Linux (preferably Ubuntu) Support and management are essential.
  • Google Workspace or similar platform administration experience including user, configuration and device management is essential.
  • Troubleshooting computer hardware experience is essential.
  • Experience with bash scripting is essential.
  • Experience using JIRA, and Confluence for planning, organising and managing the workload is required.
  • Experience with administering ticketing systems such as JIRA Service Management or similar is required.
  • Experience managing networking including WAN, LAN, and security policies is required, and experience with CISCO appliances is highly desirable.
  • Experience evaluating and procuring IT equipment is highly regarded.
  • Experience with git or similar version control tools is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of cyber security and experience with security solutions.
  • Experience with AWS is highly desirable.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Terraform and Puppet is a bonus.

This will be a role with lots of variety that will see you interact with team members from all departments, report directly to the IT Manager and enjoy a flexible work environment with 3 days in the office and 2 from home.
