Job Description
The Agriculture department is looking for an experienced seasonal Agricultural Assistant with an immediate start to October 30, 2026. We are seeking applicants who enjoy the public, possess excellent computer skills, and have exceptional communication and record-keeping skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Carry out the crop inventory survey for the season
- Pick weeds in inaccessible areas and transport them to the incinerator at the landfill site
- Assist with placing and monitoring 1) Bertha Armyworm; 2) Diamondback Moth and 3) Wheat Midge traps
- Assist in Data reporting
- Assist in planting and maintaining of Invasive Species Demo Site and other similar projects
- Organize and participate in the Weed Warrior program
- Assist with plant and soil sample collections
- Assist with Clubroot monitoring and sampling
- Assist with crop inspections for Pest and Disease issues
- Assist in organizing and participating in various County functions
Qualifications
- A valid Class 5 driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract
- An interest in agriculture, particularly insects and diseases found in agriculture
- A strong work ethic
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
- Enjoy working in collaborative teams
- Willingness to find and catch different insects
The successful applicants must have reliable transportation to and from work.
Additional Information
Work Schedule: This position is 40 hours a week Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with some weekends and evenings as required.
Hourly Pay: $25.53 to $30.03 hourly
Closing Date: June 21, 2026, 11.59 pm MST.
