Job Description

We are looking for an intern to work with our Product Design and Development team for 20 hours per week between the hours of 8AM - 5PM. This is an onsite position (no remote work) that will report to our facility in East Orlando. This position will start in January 2021. 

Summary:

The CAD Engineering Intern will work with the Engineering team and operations departments to improve efficiency, quality and assist in creating and maintaining the 3D CAD parts library. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Performs reverse engineering of parts, part validation and development of the 3D CAD parts library.
  • Performs product analysis by cross referencing physical parts with their respective 3D models to ensure dimensional accuracy. 
  • Assist in development and maintenance of top assemblies in NX, Rhino and SolidWorks.
  • Represents the Product Design and Development department on cross functional teams. 
  • Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • SolidWorks experience: 3D modelling environment, drawing documents, eDrawings, PDM, etc. 
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organization and project management skills
  • Ability to juggle and manage competing tasks and deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events

Preferred:

  • Some knowledge of other CAD applications (AutoCAD, Rhino, VCarve, NX)
  • Experience with SolidWorks Enterprise PDM
  • Manufacturing experience desired, does not need to be within the marine industry
