Job Description

The Head of BA Operational Quality Management is responsible to lead and coordinate Quality Planning, Supplier Quality, Customer Case Management, Application Quality Planning and project support activities. This includes the functional supervisory and support for plant quality management. Relevant product group focus - Conveyor Solutions (CS), Power Transmission Solutions (PTS) and Service (for CS)

Areas on responsibility:

1.  Leadership

  • Responsible to lead and inspire people considering ContiTech's leadership philosophy
  • Provide stability and high trust, develop your people. Empower them to take ownership.
  • Select, manage and develop qualified staff. Encourage them to think outside the box. 
  • Ensure availability of adequate personnel capacities for all tasks

2. Application Quality Planning

  • Responsible to lead and coordinate the execution of Application Quality Planning Process incl. Process and  Product Robustness Standards in cooperation with the Plants
  • Implement and maintain safe launch concept for customer projects 
  • Coordinate systematic Quality Reviews and Approvals of product / process changes
  • Ensure execution of Lesson Learned and Improvement Programs

3. Customer Case Management

  • Responsible to collaborate with Customer Quality on cases and incidents within BA Cluster (including Escalations)
  • Coordination of interdisciplinary and cross-location teams to define corrective and preventive measures in the plants in relation to customer incidents
  • Execution of Lesson Learned and Improvement Programs  regarding Customer Case Management in cooperation with Customer Quality Management

4. Operational Quality Management

  • Responsible to lead, initiate and support projects aimed at standardizing best practice and sharing lessons learned
  • Support and conduct internal process and system audits to assure that all core quality systems are implemented in cooperation with BA Audit Management
  • Ensure the systematic coordination of quality reviews and approvals of product / process changes
  • Ensure to support plants in the achievement and maintenance of ISO/TS accreditations
  • Provide focus on identifying, prioritizing, and strategically reducing technical compliance risk in cooperation with BA tC Management
  • Utilize experience and lessons learned to identifying gaps in the Management System implementations in cooperation with BA IMS team.
  • Ensure support plant quality operational objectives by contributing to strategic plans and reviews

5. Quality Planning

  • Responsible to ensure the compliance of Quality Planning Standards according to the Customer Requirements
  • Coordination of the Quality Feasibility Study for Customer Projects
  • Implementation of the CT PLC Standards
  • Ensure maintenance of Quality-Gate Management Requirement Standards (specific Checklists)
  • Coordination of the Quality Gate Reviews for customer projects according to the PLC
  • Ensure maintenance of Industry Specific Change Management Standards
  • Coordination of the execution of Continuous Quality Planning Improvement Programs
  • Driving the Lesson Learned and Improvement Process regarding Quality Planning
  • Ensure implementation and maintenance of a Quality Planning monitoring and standardized reporting

6. Customer Q-Requirement and Q-Contracts management

  • Responsible to define and maintain of Customer Q-Requirement Evaluation Process
  • Evaluation and Approval of Q-Contract (QAA) Management
  • Coordination and maintenance of Customer Quality Requirement Data Base 
  • Support of the Technical Regulation Coordinator (TRC)

7. Suppler Quality Management

  • Responsible for the coordination of Supplier Quality Activities with BA Plant Supplier Quality
  • Interface for Group Sector Supplier Quality Management
  • Coordination of Supplier Performance Management and Improvement (incl. Supplier Escalations) with Sector SQM and plants

8. Quality Methods, Tools, and Trainings

  • Responsible to manage and work with plant teams to improve knowledge and implementation of quality system tools – e.g. GR&R, FMEA, Control Plans, Statistical Process Control, Structured Problem Solving
  • Drive continuous improvement related to the Mission Critical Rules in the plants.
  • Ensure support for implementation of production, productivity, quality, tC and customer-service standards
  • Lead the key user support and site level training and implementation support for quality digitalization tools

9. BA Operational QM Network

  • Responsible to drive the BA Quality Network in regard of Operational Quality (incl. with BA Ops team)
  • Coordination of BA Operational Quality Management Projects in cooperation with the Plants.

 

Qualifications

1. Education: Technical Degree, e.g. in the field of Engineering, Production Technology, etc.

2. Professional Experience: Consequential years/long term Management experience preferably in Quality or Manufacturing. Broad functional work experience including operations. Several years of professional experience and methodological competence in the field of Quality Management. Customer and Supplier communication experience.

3. Project and/or Process Experience: Several years experience in technical problem solving, continuous improvement, or project management.

4. Leadership Experience: Consequential years / long-term of international and cross functional team leadership experience. Strong leadership skills (e.g. team lead skills, conflict management and networking).

5. Intercultural/International Experience: Experience with intercultural communication (e.g. internally across locations, international customers, international suppliers).
