Job Description

The End of Line Inspector will be responsible for inspecting tires from the sorter (PTS) station and verifying each tire meets all factory and customer standards.

End of Line Inspectors will be required to:

  1. Efficiently inspect each tire routed to their station.
  2. Have the ability to lift any tire in the PLT production system and efficiently place the tire in an assigned location.
  3. Verify each tire is free of basic anomalies.
  4. Remove all existing flash to within factory standards.
  5. Report all anomalies to their supervisor or designate.
  6. Promptly clear any tire jams and reset as required any devices to maintain production flow.
  7. Must maintain an inspection pace such as to prohibit process back logs.
  8. Must perform all tasks safely and obey all safety rules and guidelines.
  9. Must properly stamp every tire inspected regardless of its destination.
  10. Routinely throughout each shift clean any flash or other debris in the work area.
  11. Promptly report any unsafe conditions and any items that may need repair.
  12. Follow the posted break and lunch schedules.
  13. Properly route any suspect tires into the correct containment to prevent inclusion into the production system.
  14. Perform all tasks indicated in this description within a group as a unified team.
  15. Pass vision acuity and color blind tests annually.
  16. Have a thorough understanding of the production process and quickly diagnose process errors.
  17. Have a thorough understanding of bar code requirements and the efficient ability to correct bar code errors.

 

Qualifications

Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent

 

Specific Skills and Abilities (In Order of Importance)

1. Follow written and Oral instruction

2. Good Communication skills

3.  Accuracy

4. Trainable on Basic Computer keyboard.

 

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS (travel, lifting restrictions, etc.):

Light to Medium work. Must be able to stand and perform all tasks. Must be able to distinguish colors, have good vision acuity, perform minimal lifting of 70 pounds, have hand -finger dexterity to operate keyboard, ability to use both hands and arms, and work in a high heat environment. Must be able to work any shifts any hours to accomplish work tasks

 

 

Additional Information

Ability to stoop, bend, sit for long periods, walk long distance, some standing, climb stairs, some manipulation and rolling of Light Truck Tires weighing  up to 85#’s, use of both arms and hands to perform the job. Good Vision and attention to detail required. Work any hours or shifts as directed by QA Supervisor.
